Fresh off his recent performance at the 2024 Arnold Classic, Ramon Queiroz remains in full stride. In a recent YouTube video, Queiroz teamed up with fitness influencer Jesse James West for an arduous arm workout.
Queiroz’s competitive pedigree is evident, having previously faced off against five-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead. He claimed victory at the 2023 Arnold Classic, solidifying his status as a formidable challenger to Bumstead. However, at the 2024 Arnold Classic Ohio, Queiroz yielded the top spot to Dutch standout Wesley Vissers.

Despite the setback, Queiroz remains resolute in his pursuit of the Classic Physique Olympia title. With his eyes set on the ultimate prize, Queiroz recently collaborated with Jesse James West for a workout session. West, a prominent figure in the fitness community with nearly four million YouTube subscribers, joined Queiroz in his quest for excellence.

Their Workout Routine:
- Standing Dumbbell Bicep Curls
- Cable Triceps Pushdown
- Machine Preacher Curl
- Overhead Cable Triceps Extension
- Low Cable Bar Curl
- Seated Dumbbell Triceps Extension
Throughout the training session, Queiroz reflects on his status as one of the top Classic Physique competitors in the IFBB Pro League.
“How does it feel being top two in the world in Classic Physique?” asks Jesse James West.
“Man, it’s an honor for me, you know, it’s an honor for my people and my country to take the title of second best in the world. But, we’re going to battle to get first place now,” said Ramon Queiroz.
Furthermore, Queiroz discussed his approach to managing pressure during competitions.
“Normally, I just isolate myself,” said Queiroz.
“I train arms every day and they still don’t look anything like his… almost…” says West.
“Cookies and energy drinks [were my go-to choices after the 2024 Arnold Classic]. Yeah [I ate a lot].”
Moreover, Queiroz then disclosed the most challenging aspect of competing at the highest level.
“Damn, it’s the starving. I have to lose a lot of weight. Basically, 15 kilograms [33 pounds],” said Queiroz. “First, consistency and dedication. Rain or shine, it hurts or you don’t have to go.”
Moving on to machine preacher curls, JJW starts with a lighter set. Queiroz lifts the same weight using only his pinky finger, revealing he currently trains six days a week. He also revealed that cardio is his least favorite training routine and during contest prep is tasked with two hours per day.”
Also, Queiroz shared his perspective on training to failure.
“Do you train to failure or do you have any sort of way that you train compared to others?”
“In the past, I trained until failure. Now, I do 10-12 reps of max weight. It’s good to avoid the injuries.”

After their triceps finisher, Queiroz bests JJW in an arm-wrestling match, followed by a posing session.
Since his loss in Columbus, Ohio, Queiroz has been candid with fans about his bodybuilding future. He’s committed to intensifying his dedication to the sport, aiming to make significant improvements to his physique. With potential adjustments, many speculate Queiroz remains a contender to challenge Bumstead’s dominance later this year.
The 2024 Mr. Olympia competition, marking its 60th anniversary, draws near. Set in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 10-13, it offers Queiroz not only a chance at redemption but an opportunity to dethrone Chris Bumstead.
