Michal ‘Krizo’ Krizanek’s 2024 bodybuilding season has come to an abrupt end. The Men’s Open star confirmed he would no longer pursue a qualification for the Mr. Olympia contest after suffering a shoulder injury.
Last weekend, Krizo made his seasonal debut at the 2024 Empro Classic Pro. He entered the contest with considerable momentum as the defending champion. However, he faced possibly the best William Bonac we’ve ever seen, in addition to Behrooz Tabani, who boasted exceptional conditioning. Krizo ultimately landed in third place.
With so few Olympia qualifications available to Men’s Open athletes, questions about Krizo’s next show began swirling. To clear the air, he took to Instagram and revealed what went wrong in Alicante, Spain. He also discussed his plan to qualify for the 2025 Mr. Olympia early by attempting to win back his title at the EVLS Prague Pro in November.
“Top Olympian and international superstar @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek IS OUT of this @mrolympiallc 😢. @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek has been suffering with a shoulder issue for a long time that has hindered his training and posing ability.
As you saw in Spain his posing was very difficult since his shoulder was in pain and he was not able to make the necessary improvements needed to climb the ladder. He will NOT BE doing Portugal pro or Dubai this summer. His number one priority is to get the Shoulder fixed as he can train and pose at 100 💯.
He will return to the prestigious @evls_prague_pro_official which is after the Olympia and WIN his 2025 Olympia qualification. We wish him a speedy recovery and we are looking forward to the NEW and improved @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek at the @evls_prague_pro_official 🔥🔥🔥” per the @aj.kellyrobert Instagram handle.
Michal Krizo discussed his situation on June 19, 2024.
“Such a short statement about the competition in Spain and what else 💪 sorry for those drunk eyes but I did not sleep for almost 2 days properly and I am tired from the fest😂💪”

Michal Krizo stuck to a strict 4,500-calorie bulking diet and rigorous training regimen for the 2024 bodybuilding season. Despite setbacks at the 2024 Empro Classic Pro in Spain, upcoming events like the Flex Weekend Pro in Italy and Mr. Big Evolution Pro in Portugal were opportunities he planned to capitalize on.
