During the 2023 British Powerlifting (BP) Eleiko British Open Classic Championships on March 16, 2023, Dhillon made history by pulling off a raw 385.5-kilogram (849.8-pound) deadlift. This pulling feat broke the BP record in the 120-kilogram division and matched the current IPF World Record in the same class. Impressively, Dhillon only wore a lifting belt for this milestone, adding it to his European Record of 375.5 kilograms (827.8 pounds). The contest was held in Nottingham, England, and marked a significant achievement for the athlete.

Inderraj Singh Dhillon, a 120-kilogram powerlifter, has broken the all-time raw deadlift record by pulling a whopping 386 kilograms (851.4 pounds) at the 2023 Eleiko British Open Classic. The previous record belonged to Luke Richardson, who lifted 385 kilograms (848.7 pounds) at the 2018 European Powerlifting Federation (EPF) European Classic Powerlifting Championships. It is noteworthy that Richardson weighed 147.2 kilograms (324.5 pounds) at the time of his lift, while Singh Dillon weighed in at 119.6 kilograms (263.7 pounds), making his achievement even more remarkable.
Singh Dillon’s success has earned him a spot in the upcoming 2023 International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Classic Powerlifting Championships, which will take place in Valletta, Malta, on Jun. 11-18, 2023. This competition will feature various powerlifting stars from different weight classes and backgrounds, and according to Open Powerlifting, it will mark Singh Dillon’s debut at the event.
Singh Dillon is not satisfied with just breaking the BP raw deadlift record; he has set his sights on breaking the IPF raw deadlift World Record as well. The current record belongs to Bryce Krawczyk, who lifted 385.5 kilograms (849.9 Pounds) at the 2021 IPF Worlds. All Singh Dillon needs to do to surpass Krawczyk’s record is to lift any weight beyond his BP record, and it is a relatively simple task for him under the international spotlight.
Singh Dillon has participated in ten sanctioned competitions over the course of his career, dating back to September 2018, and has captured three victories. With his recent accomplishments, he is set to make a big impact at the IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships and continue to be a force in the powerlifting world.
