In an October 2023 podcast with powerlifter Mark Bell, Fruchey discussed his past drug addiction and how bodybuilding saved his life. He replaced drugs with bodybuilding, viewing it as a better addiction despite steroids’ addictive nature.
Fruchey competed as an amateur bodybuilder for four years before his breakthrough at the 2020 NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia Orlando. There, he earned his IFBB Pro card, marking a significant achievement in his career.
