Event 1 — Loading Race
The first event of the 2024 Britain’s Strongest Woman competition was multifaceted. Moreover, the women had to pick up and carry three implements of varying sizes and shapes. Also, the objective was to complete all three tasks in the shortest time possible.
- First Implement: 100-kg (220.5-lb) Anvil
- Second Implement: 90-kg (198.4-lb) Tire
- Third Implement: 100-kg (220.5-lb) Sandbag
Additionally, the Loading Race was both exciting and tense, with only two women breaking the 40-second barrier. Moreover, Laura Baxter emerged as the fastest, completing all three tasks in 37.76 seconds. Also, this impressive performance earned her the event win and the maximum 12 points.
Lucy Underdown was the other competitor to finish under 40 seconds, completing the race just 1.5 seconds behind Laura. Moreover, this strong start positioned her well in the competition, ahead of her biggest rival, Rebecca Roberts.

Event 2 — Dumbbell Press
The Dumbbell Press is a staple in Strongwoman and Strongman competitions, known for its challenge. Moreover, this time, athletes had to pick up and overhead press a 60-kilogram (132.3-pound) dumbbell for as many reps as possible. However, while they could use both arms to lift the dumbbell to their shoulder, they had to press it overhead with one arm.
Moreover, the event proved exceptionally tough for most competitors, with only five athletes managing any reps. However, Donna Moore stood out, easily locking out six repetitions and securing the win.
Andrea Thompson took second place with five reps. Known for her impressive overhead pressing strength, her high placement came as no surprise.
Lastly, Laura Baxter and Lucy Underdown both managed four reps, tying for third place. As a result, they shared the points, each earning 9.5.

Event 3 — Deadlift
The midway point of the 2024 Britain’s Strongest Woman was marked by the Deadlift for reps. Moreover, the athletes had to pull 220 kilograms (485 pounds) for as many repetitions as possible using an Axle bar, which is much thicker than a standard bar and provides no slack.
Additionally, the deadlift event was a stark contrast to the Dumbbell Press, with all competitors achieving a respectable number of repetitions. However, no one could match Lucy Underdown, who locked out an impressive 13 reps, leaving the rest to battle for second place.
Moreover, Rebecca Roberts secured second place, showcasing her remarkable deadlifting skills with 11 reps. Also, she finished two reps behind Lucy but also two ahead of the next closest competitor.

Event 4 — Wrecking Ball Hold
In the penultimate event of the 2024 Britain’s Strongest Woman, athletes faced the challenge of holding a massive 225-kg (496-lb) Wrecking Ball. Moreover, this test of grip strength also demanded significant mental endurance to withstand the tremendous pain. Furthermore, the goal was to hold the wrecking ball for as long as possible.
In addition, Grip events are always unpredictable, but Lucy Underdown consistently performs well. Also, she dominated again, holding the Wrecking Ball for 93.22 seconds, securing her second consecutive event win.

Event 5 — Castle Stones
The final hurdle of the competition was perhaps the most popular event in the sport — a series of heavy Castle Stones. Moreover, the event involved four boulders ranging from 80 kg (176.4 lbs) to 140 kg (308.6 lbs). The goal was to load all of them onto the platform within a 60-second time limit.
Furthermore, the Castle Stones presented the last chance for athletes to improve their standings. Also, Lucy Underdown maintained her dominance, winning her third consecutive event and securing the 2024 Britain’s Strongest Woman title. She completed all four stones in just 23.50 seconds.
