YouTube sensation Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, has carved out a name for himself in the live-streaming space, with an impressive following on social media platforms. During a recent live stream, IShowSpeed narrowly escaped injury after becoming stuck under a barbell while performing bench presses.
IShowSpeed gained his initial attention through gaming videos and snippets from his extended live streams. Several of his short clips have been featured in reaction videos and memes. He has, however, also gained notoriety for his over-the-top outbursts, resulting in a ban from Twitch.
Apart from gaming and lifestyle-based content, IShowSpeed has also explored his passion for music. His foray into music began in August 2021, and he has since released several songs that have quickly amassed a following on social media platforms. Last year, he even infused his love for soccer into his music, with the release of ‘Ronaldo (Sewey)’ in honor of famous soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, and ‘World Cup’ for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Proper exercise form is crucial to minimizing the risk of injury. Unfortunately, gym fails and training mishaps are not uncommon. Even eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman has been stunned by the poor form he has witnessed in the gym, as evidenced in his reaction videos to a bunch of gym fails. The legendary bodybuilder has followed that up with another reaction video showcasing even more insane feats and mishaps recorded in the gym.

IShowSpeed Nearly Injured During Bench Press: Barbell Crashes Down on Chest
IShowSpeed, the popular YouTuber, managed to avoid injury during a recent live stream on the platform. While performing the bench press at his home gym, Watkins Jr. was unable to lift the weight and the barbell came crashing down on him. Upon review, it was found that Watkins Jr. had set the safety pegs too low for the exercise, thereby increasing the likelihood of an accident.
During the warm-up set, Watkins Jr. used one plate of 45lbs on each side of the barbell, but his form was found to be incorrect, as indicated by his feet leaving the ground during the lift.

In a recent YouTube livestream, popular content creator IShowSpeed found himself in a dangerous situation while performing the bench press. In a rush, he made a critical error by forgetting to take off a plate from one side of the barbell and adding two more 10-lb plates, resulting in an uneven distribution of weight. Upon lifting the bar, he realized that one side felt much heavier and adjusted the weight to 155 pounds.
The livestream took a terrifying turn when the barbell came crashing down onto IShowSpeed’s chest, leaving him stuck underneath it. Due to the safety racks being lower than required, he struggled to control the weight, but eventually managed to slide the bar to one side and escape from underneath it. His panic was palpable as he exclaimed, “Help! I can’t breathe! Stop, I can’t breathe! Inshallah! I almost died. Oh, my god! I almost died! Oh, my fking god! No more again. Chat, should we do it again, bro? Holy st!”
Thankfully, IShowSpeed was able to escape unharmed after the scary incident. The livestream serves as a reminder of the importance of proper form and safety precautions while engaging in physical exercise.
