Hulk Hogan is dead at 71. He suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Early that morning, emergency responders rushed to the scene after a 911 call. Outside the home, police cruisers and EMT vehicles gathered as neighbors watched. Soon, Hogan was carried out on a stretcher and taken to a hospital. Within hours, doctors pronounced him dead. For weeks, rumors had spread about his declining health. This followed neck fusion surgery he had in May.
Recently, his wife Sky denied reports that he was in a coma. Instead, she said he was recovering at home. However, rumors of worsening symptoms circulated among wrestling fans. In the 1980s and ’90s, Hogan dominated professional wrestling. His charisma, mustache, and red-and-yellow gear became symbols of WWE. During this time, he helped create the global “Hulkamania” phenomenon.
At WrestleMania III, Hogan body-slammed Andre the Giant in front of 93,000 fans. This moment became one of wrestling’s most iconic. Over time, Hogan headlined eight WrestleManias. He was the face of WWE’s explosive growth. Outside the ring, Hogan crossed into mainstream culture. He appeared in films, TV shows, and commercials. Clearly, he was more than a wrestler.
Hogan starred in Rocky III and No Holds Barred. He also led the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best. In 1996, he shocked fans by turning heel. As “Hollywood Hogan,” he formed the New World Order. This revived his career and helped WCW dominate ratings.

During his career, Hogan collected an impressive number of titles. He won the WWE Championship six times and the WCW World Heavyweight Title six times. Furthermore, he claimed back-to-back Royal Rumble victories in 1990 and 1991. 🏅🏅 His legacy includes both eras of dominance—first as a heroic icon, then as a compelling heel. In both roles, he left an indelible mark on wrestling history.
Later, the WWE inducted Hogan into its Hall of Fame twice—once as a solo inductee in 2005, and again with the nWo in 2020. Despite past controversies, including a temporary removal from the Hall, he remained one of the most recognized figures in wrestling. Over the years, he battled health issues stemming from years of physical punishment in the ring. As a result, he underwent more than 25 surgeries, including multiple procedures on his knees, hips, and spine.

After stepping away from the spotlight, Hogan worked to repair his public image and physical health. He gave up alcohol and committed to an organic lifestyle, cutting out sugar and processed food. By focusing on nutrition and recovery, he attempted to regain control over his aging body. At the same time, he distanced himself from the scandals that once threatened to overshadow his career.
Still, fans around the world never let go of their admiration. Even amid controversy and decline, Hogan remained a beloved figure to millions. To many, he represented strength, perseverance, and larger-than-life entertainment. His death marks the end of a towering era in professional wrestling.
