Prejudging Highlights

On the morning of March 15, 2024, the contestants were introduced to the audience and judges. Shortly thereafter, the prejudging round commenced, demanding peak performance from the athletes.

Wesley Vissers rose to the occasion, displaying even greater leanness than he did in Columbus at the 2024 Arnold Classic Physique US contest, which he won. Breon Ansley, Urs Kalecinski, and Daboul joined Vissers in the callouts.

These four athletes, who were also frontrunners in the contest two weeks earlier, maintained their positions in Birmingham. While the judges occasionally rearranged the order, these individuals were likely the top four contenders heading into the finals.

Finals Recap

During the evening finals, all seven athletes showcased their individual routines. Head judge Steve Weinberger summoned the bodybuilders to center stage for the confirmation round.

Kalecinski, Ansley, Vissers, and Daboul stood in that order for their callout, exuding calm and confidence. Subsequently, announcer Bob Cicherillo called the athletes to a posedown before the award ceremony.

In the end, Kalecinski secured bronze, Ansley claimed silver, and Vissers triumphed with gold, marking his second consecutive Arnold contest victory.

Promoter Arnold Schwarzenegger awarded him the champion’s trophy, just like in Columbus, OH, two weeks earlier. With this victory, Vissers is now a top contender for the 2024 Classic Physique Olympia title, currently held by five-time champion Chris Bumstead. The showdown is set for Las Vegas, NV, on the weekend of Oct. 10-13, 2024.
