Victoria Long Breaks the Elephant Bar Deadlift World Record by Lifting 651 Pounds in a Fierce Competition
Long’s memorable weekend was one for the books.

It would be hard for Victoria Long to top the weekend of March 2-5, 2023. Not only did she secure her second consecutive Arnold Strongwoman Classic (ASC) title in Columbus, OH, but she also achieved an incredible feat in the process. On the second day of competition, Long broke the world record by completing an Elephant Bar Deadlift of 295.2 kilograms (651 pounds). It was an impressive way to finish off a successful performance.
The Elephant Bar Deadlift was introduced by Rogue Fitness and made its debut during the 2016 ASC. However, it didn’t have a record among strongwomen competitors until 2020. The specialized barbell, manufactured by Rogue Fitness, is 10 feet in length, significantly longer than a traditional barbell, allowing it to bend as the athlete pulls through the range of motion. This extended distance also adds “whip” to the lockout position as the weights rebound slightly from momentum, making the lift uniquely challenging compared to other deadlift variations.
Achieving a World Record in a prestigious contest is a significant feat, and Long undoubtedly savored the victory as she clinched her second consecutive Arnold Strongwoman Classic title. Her accomplishment highlights her growing prowess as one of the most formidable competitors in women’s strength sports.
