Tristan Tate’s impressive physique didn’t take a back seat even while he was in prison in Romania. Confined to a small cell for months, he maintained his muscular build by following a strict workout and diet regimen.

In the absence of gym equipment, Tristan had to be creative with his workouts. He focused on bodyweight exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, and squats. He increased the intensity and volume of his exercises and incorporated resistance bands for added resistance.

A Mindful Diet in Prison

Tristan was mindful of his diet while in prison. He didn’t have access to a wide range of food options, but he managed to maintain his muscle mass by focusing on high-protein meals. He avoided unhealthy snacks and junk food, which are often readily available in prison.

“I don’t train in the gym too often. I do 500-1,000 push ups a day. Whenever I’m on the computer, I set myself a little target.

So I’m on the computer, every few minutes I’ll drop and do as many push ups as I can.”

Tristan Tate also incorporates gym workouts into his routine, which includes weightlifting and resistance training. He focuses on compound exercises that work multiple muscle groups at once.

“I’m a 4x kickboxing world champion.

I used to do push ups, shadow boxing with 4-5 kilos, running with 4-5 kilos, and burpees with weighted vests.

But I never lifted weights ever. Just lots of punching people in the head!”

Of course, the Tate brothers do train in commercial gyms once in a while. Here is a workout that Tristan’s brother Andrew Tate performed with the fitness mega-influencer Mike Thurston.

  • Exercise #1: Bench press, 3 sets of 6-8 reps
  • Exercise #2: Pull ups (wide grip), 3 sets of 6-8 reps
  • Exercise #3: V-bar dips, 3 sets of 6-8 reps

Talk about an intense workout! Tristan Tate’s brother was able to bench press 275 pounds for reps. That is absolutely incredible in its own right. However, it’s even more impressive when you consider that the Tate’s almost exclusively perform push-ups in their workouts!

Tristan Tate’s diet plays a significant role in maintaining his muscular build. He focuses on high-protein meals and avoids junk food and other unhealthy snacks.
