After months of speculation about her plans, Francielle Mattos drops out and has confirmed that she will not compete at the 2025 Mr. Olympia. Now, the three-time Wellness Olympia champion has announced her decision to step away from the division’s top contest to focus on her health, family, and new projects.
“I needed to turn my eyes on what sustains everything I’ve built: my health, my family, and also the new projects that are emerging that require a lot from me,” Mattos shared in her Thursday morning post.
Since its introduction, the Wellness division has gained massive popularity. In fact, it was added to the IFBB Pro League in 2020 and made its Olympia debut in 2021. From the start, Mattos has been one of the defining figures of the division and helped shape its identity.

Three-Time Wellness Champion Francielle Mattos Drops Out of 2025 Olympia
Throughout her career, Mattos was nearly unbeatable early on, thanks to the package she consistently brought to the stage. Notably, she won the inaugural Olympia Wellness title in 2021 and defended her crown successfully in 2022 and 2023.
In her announcement, Mattos reflected on her journey and the meaning of her titles.
“This year Mr. Olympia will hold its 5th edition of the Wellness category… and for the first time, I won’t be there.
It’s been almost 10 years dedicated to sports, a journey marked by struggles, overcoming and achievements that changed my life forever. Along the way, I lived the dream of climbing the biggest bodybuilding stage in the world and had the honor of becoming the triple-champion of Mr. Olympia Wellness—a title that is not just mine but everyone who believed in me.”

Before her Olympia success, Mattos began her fitness career in the IFBB Elite Pro in 2018. The next year, she transitioned to the IFBB Pro League and claimed major victories, including the Arnold Amateur South American and the 2020 Arnold Amateur in Columbus.
Most recently, Mattos finished as the runner-up at the 2024 Olympia, where Isabelle Nunes captured her first Wellness title. Now, with her decision to sit out 2025, the division will see a new champion emerge without its most dominant competitor on stage.
