🇺🇸 Shawn Ray has delivered clear advice to 🇺🇸 Keone Pearson — stay in the 212 Men’s division and dominate it for years to come. Then, Ray made it clear that a jump to the Men’s Open would be premature. Moreover, he believes Pearson’s strengths — structure, shape, and balance — would lose their edge against larger rivals. Finally, his words reignited debate about whether Pearson should chase legacy or size.

“Keone’s got everything working for him right now. He’s the most complete athlete in the 212.”

Next, Ray reminded fans that bodybuilding rewards precision, not just mass. Then, he warned that a hasty move could erase what makes Pearson special. Moreover, Ray’s perspective echoed the patient path once followed by Flex Lewis, who built his legend before ever considering a move up.

“I personally don’t think it’s time for Keone to go into the Open. Flex Lewis wasn’t out there competing in a bunch of Open shows.”

Meanwhile, Pearson’s success has fueled constant speculation. Then, after reclaiming the 212 Olympia crown in 2025, many wondered if he’d outgrown the division. However, Ray countered that the true measure of greatness lies in how long you can stay on top, not how fast you can change stages.

Lastly, the conversation stretched beyond division choice. Then, it became about identity, discipline, and long-term vision. Moreover, Pearson’s calm response suggested he values strategy over noise. Finally, as 2026 approaches, the bodybuilding world waits to see if he follows Ray’s advice or tests new waters.

Shawn Ray tells Keone Pearson to win as many 212 Olympia titles as possible, says it’s not time for Men’s Open

First, Ray drew a direct comparison to 🥇 Flex Lewis, who dominated the 212 division for seven straight Olympias before retiring undefeated. Then, he urged Pearson to follow that same path of dominance and patience.

“Flex didn’t rush. He knew where he was unbeatable.”

Next, Ray described what happens when smaller athletes move up too soon. Then, he recalled Pearson’s brief run on the Open stage.

“You put him on that Open stage and he disappeared. He didn’t have that wow factor. He loses that advantage of being bigger.”

Moreover, Ray said the 212 category still offers Pearson unfinished business. Finally, he advised Pearson to keep winning where he already reigns supreme.

“If you lose that battle, stay with what got you there. Don’t change. Win as many 212 titles as you can.”

🥇 Why Ray’s Advice Matters

Ray’s advice comes from experience. Then, as a former Olympia podium finisher, he knows how difficult it is to manage timing and growth. Moreover, he sees in Pearson the potential to build a dynasty instead of a detour.

“He’s a world champion right now. He’s in control of the division. Why give that up?”

Next, the comparison to Flex Lewis isn’t nostalgia — it’s a blueprint. Ray emphasized that Lewis mastered his field before stepping aside. Then, he reminded Pearson that consistency builds credibility.

“Flex Lewis wasn’t out there competing in Open shows. He stayed, built his legacy, and left on top.”

Then, fans joined the discussion across social media. Many agreed that Pearson should protect his momentum while refining his physique. Moreover, others said the Open can wait — another 212 title could define his legacy. Finally, Ray’s words reminded everyone that timing, not size, decides champions.

“Keone has a beautiful physique — he’s what the 212 is supposed to look like. Perfect lines, symmetry, conditioning. Don’t throw that away trying to chase the Open too soon.”

Overview

Shawn Ray’s advice to Keone Pearson captured more than a simple career decision — it spoke to the essence of legacy and timing in bodybuilding. Moreover, Ray urged Pearson to resist the pull of the Men’s Open and instead refine his reign in the 212 division, where his physique, conditioning, and balance remain unmatched. Then, he reminded the sport that greatness often comes not from rushing upward but from mastering one’s domain. Finally, if Pearson continues to build his record title by title, he could redefine what dominance looks like in modern bodybuilding — proving that patience, precision, and discipline still carve the deepest marks in history.
