“Every time I try to go to sleep you just constantly, your mind keeps working your mind doesn’t shut off so yeah, this is prep. This is the part of prep they don’t tell you about, where you’re exhausted but yet you can’t sleep,” Dauda shared.

The year 2022 marked a turning point in the illustrious world of bodybuilding. Samson Dauda, christened “The Nigerian Lion”, emerged from the shadows, clinching two notable fourth-place titles at the Arnold Classic and Boston Pro. At a towering six feet, Dauda’s stature, combined with his nuanced posing, has made him a formidable force to be reckoned with.

His Olympia debut saw him sharing the stage with the colossal Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay. Dauda, however, did not play second fiddle. Matching Elssbiay stride for stride in muscular prowess, he secured a commendable sixth position. Yet, Dauda’s mastery in leg volume, coupled with his superior aesthetics and presentation, clinched his victory. With such accelerating momentum, many seasoned pundits now view him as a potential successor to Hadi Choopan’s reigning championship.

Dauda  Strategy: Unveiling Dietary Secrets and Cardio Regimens 3 Weeks Ahead of 2023 Mr. Olympia

As the countdown to the 2023 Mr. Olympia intensifies, Dauda, in collaboration with Sarcev, has recalibrated his regimen. Cardio, now a daily 45-minute endeavor, is closely followed by an equally demanding posing session. In the dietary realm, Dauda offered a glimpse into his carb-loading strategy. He intimated that the most substantial carb meal is strategically placed third in his daily intake, fortifying him right before his primary workout session.

“There’s some changes we made this week. including obviously, cardio, we took cardio up for 45 minutes cardio and then 40 minutes of posing straight after that. Breakfast, no carbs for breakfast just what you see here. Three eggs and a coffee. Meal two, we keeping the carbs extremely low for meal two, which is steak.

Our first proper carb meal will be my pre-training meal a first proper carb meal I have right before going to the gym. And then post-training, whey isolate shake and meal after that. We’re kind of going in that way. So today, where we’re at. Man, it’s been a tough – it’s going to be a tough week. It’s the second day but it’s going to be a really tough week. I’m struggling to sleep with the stages of prep where we are.”

“Every week that goes by, I see the changes… it makes me want to work harder and seeing that, seeing the results come from that work it makes me even more confident when I walk on that stage. I’m feeling at the moment, it feels like I’m going through hell, but if you’re going through hell, keep walking, so you get paid for something. You get something out of it,” shared Samson Dauda.

The path to bodybuilding success isn’t carved out merely in the gym; the kitchen plays an equally vital role. Samson Dauda, meticulous in his training regimen, is no different when it comes to his nutrition. As he pivoted to discuss his weekly meal preparations, it became evident that every bite is designed with intention, ensuring his body receives the optimal nourishment it requires in the run-up to the competition.

“We’ve done the first half which is steaks, that’s all cooked ready, next up, chickens going on and I’ll tell you this man the hardest part about doing this is knowing that you’re absolutely starving but you can’t eat none yourself because it’s not in your meal plan just yet,” Dauda shared.

The muscle symmetry and definition a bodybuilder displays on the Mr. Olympia stage are no accident. Every training session, every rep is part of a master plan to sculpt the perfect physique.   • Standing Single Leg Machine Hamstring Curl: 1 set of 12 reps
  • Leg Extension Machine: 4 sets of 10-12 reps each
  • Leg Press Machine: 3 sets ranging from 12 to 20 reps
  • Walking Lunges with Weights: 2 sets
  • Reverse Hack Squat: 1 set of 9 reps
  • Hip Abduction Machine: 1 set of 14 reps
