Samantha Eugenie, a 20-year-old powerlifter, has quickly become one of the brightest young talents in the sport. While some young powerlifters struggle to find their groove and get comfortable on a sanctioned lifting platform, Eugenie seems to be an exception. She has already honed in on her strengths and has become a force to be reckoned with in the competitive world of powerlifting.

Samantha Eugenie Breaks Two IPF World Records

On April 8, 2023, during the 2023 Fédération Française de Force (FFForce) Junior Nationals, Samantha Eugenie cemented her status as a rising star in powerlifting by setting two International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) raw Junior World Records. Competing in the 69-kilogram weight class, Eugenie’s first record was achieved on her final pull of the contest, lifting an impressive 220.5-kilogram (486.1-pound) deadlift. Her second record was her final total weight of 515.5 kilograms (1,136.4 pounds), which secured her first place in the competition.

Eugenie’s Records are Officially Recognized by IPF

As the Fédération Française de Force (FFForce) is under the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) jurisdiction, Samantha Eugenie’s two world records are officially recognized by the IPF. Her exceptional performance has not only placed her at the top of the competition but also solidified her status as one of the most promising powerlifters of her generation.

Samantha Eugenie’s Raw Junior World Records Outshine Reigning Champ

Samantha Eugenie’s accomplishments at the 2023 Fédération Française de Force (FFForce) Junior Nationals have earned her two International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) raw Junior World Records in the 69-kilogram weight class. Her 220.5-kilogram (486.1-pound) deadlift and her final triumphant total of 515.5 kilograms (1,136.4 pounds) surpass the previous records set by Clara Peyraud at the 2022 European Powerlifting Federation (EPF) European Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Eugenie’s Performance Puts Her Among Best Junior Athletes

Clara Peyraud’s previous records in the 69-kilogram IPF Junior World Champion category have been surpassed by Samantha Eugenie’s raw Junior World Record accomplishments. Peyraud’s records in deadlift and total weight have been eclipsed by Eugenie’s impressive numbers. It is worth noting that Peyraud captured her first 69-kilogram Junior world title in August 2022, whereas Eugenie, the defending Junior World champion, was competing in the 63-kilogram division. Eugenie’s success in only her second-ever appearance as a 69-kilogram competitor places her among the best Junior athletes in the world.

Eugenie’s Additional Impressive Lifts

Samantha Eugenie’s accomplishments at the 2023 Fédération Française de Force (FFForce) Junior Nationals go beyond her two International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) raw Junior World Records. She also achieved an all-time raw competition best bench press of 110 kilograms (242.5 pounds) and back squat of 185 kilograms (407.8 pounds). Here’s a breakdown of the top stats from Eugenie’s overall performance.
