In recent weeks, Rudy Kadlub’s impressive training lifts transitioned into a remarkable performance at the 2023 IPL World Championships. The culmination of his dedicated workouts aimed at setting three new IPL Masters (70-74 Years Old) World Records. Rudy Kadlub achieved unprecedented success, securing records in the squat, deadlift, and total categories within the 100KG weight class.

During the squat with wraps event, Rudy skillfully employed a lifting belt, knee wraps, and wrist wraps for a 217.5-kilogram (479.5-pound) squat attempt. Notably, he had already flawlessly lifted the same weight in training days earlier, surpassing his previous Squat IPL Masters World Record of 210 kg (451.9 lb).

In the deadlift event, Rudy claimed another World Record, pulling a hefty 235 kilograms (518 pounds) using only a lifting belt. This raw lift, executed with a sumo stance and mixed grip, exceeded his earlier Deadlift IPL Masters World Record of 233 kg (513.7 lb). Rudy Kadlub’s dedication and skill at 70-74 years old were evident, solidifying his remarkable presence in the powerlifting community.”

Rudy Kadlub’s Full Performance (Squat, Deadlift)

Kadlub secured his third and final World Record in the Total event, amassing an impressive 590 kilograms (1,300.7 pounds). Notably, he surpassed his own previous record of 578 kilograms (1,274.3 pounds), showcasing a substantial upgrade in his performance.

Furthermore, Rudy Kadlub’s total of 590 kilograms (1,300.7 pounds) marked a new All-Time World Record in the Masters (70-74 Years Old) category. This achievement not only stood as the heaviest in the IPL but also ranked as the highest across all powerlifting federations.

In his 43rd sanctioned powerlifting appearance, Rudy Kadlub notched his 37th victory, solidifying his standing as a powerhouse in the sport. Adding to his illustrious career, Kadlub clinched yet more World Records, a familiar narrative in his storied journey. While the prospect of his return to competition by year-end remains uncertain, come January 2024, Kadlub is set to venture into the Masters (75-79 Years Old) Age Class.
