Mike O’Hearn’s Latest Show Features NFL Veteran Heath Evans:

Mike O’Hearn, a well-known fitness personality, recently published Episode 37 of his talk show. On March 17, 2023, the show was made available on the popular video-sharing platform YouTube. Joining O’Hearn on the show was Heath Evans, a former NFL player who spent ten years in the league. During his time as a professional athlete, Evans played for teams like the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, and New York Giants. In 2010, Evans won Super Bowl XLIV as a member of the Saints.

Heath Evans Discusses Nutrition for Young Athletes on The Mike O’Hearn Show:

After retiring from professional football in 2011, Heath Evans became a well-known analyst for the NFL Network. On March 17, 2023, he joined fitness personality Mike O’Hearn on the latest episode of The Mike O’Hearn Show. During the show, Evans and O’Hearn discussed nutrition for young athletes, a topic that is especially important for teenagers looking to improve their athletic performance. The topic of nutrition for competitive teenage athletes was recently discussed, with trainer Nick Evans sharing his experience training the son of Garden of Life CEO Jordan Rubin. Joshua, who was not considered a gifted athlete when he first met Evans at 160 pounds, has made significant progress in the three years since combining Rubin’s nutritional programming with Evans’ training protocols.

When Evans and fellow trainer Brian O’Hearn were teenagers playing football, wrestling, or running track, their caloric intake was so high that O’Hearn “didn’t know what a surplus technically really [was].” O’Hearn’s routine included consuming combinations of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, canned tuna, chocolate milk, and pasta every two hours.

Evans and O’Hearn caution against the vast amount of nutrition information available on social media platforms like Instagram, which they believe can be “misleading” and “uneducated.” O’Hearn adds that education is not always synonymous with intelligence, furthering the importance of seeking expert advice when it comes to nutrition for young athletes.

Heath Evans and Jordan Rubin, the CEO of Garden of Life, have developed a unique nutrition program for 17-year-old Joshua Rubin. The program involves consuming a staggering 10,000 calories per day and emphasizes water buffalo and duck eggs as primary sources of protein. According to Evans and Rubin, the nutritional density of water buffalo has contributed to Joshua’s impressive progress as he prepares to play college football.

In contrast, Brian O’Hearn, a seasoned trainer, advises parents of aspiring competitive athletes or bodybuilders to avoid putting their children on diets similar to those of adult bodybuilders. Instead, he recommends a nutrition program that supports the natural growth that young teenagers experience during puberty.
