Bodybuilder Nick Walker has garnered widespread attention for his remarkable muscle mass and impeccable conditioning over the past year. In a recent episode of the Prime Time Muscle series, Olympia judge Terrick El Guindy voiced his support for Walker as a potential Mr. Olympia champion and discussed his rivalry with Derek Lunsford and Samson Dauda.
Walker emerged as a promising prospect after delivering one of the best rookie seasons in history in 2021. He clinched the gold medal at the New York Pro and followed it up with back-to-back wins at the Arnold Sports Festival a few months later. Although he finished fifth in his debut at the Mr. Olympia that year, he continued to work tirelessly in the off-season to enhance his physique.
After taking a break from competing in 2022, ‘The Mutant’ returned to the stage with a vengeance at the Mr. Olympia that year. He showcased significant improvements in his muscular detail and a trimmer waistline. During the prejudging rounds, he demonstrated his dominance in a three-way battle with Lunsford and Hadi Choopan. Ultimately, Walker secured third place, with Lunsford taking the runner-up spot and Choopan claiming the title. However, he was awarded the Olympia People’s Champ accolade.
Walker exuded confidence after the event and registered for the 2023 Arnold Classic, which offered a record prize pool of $300,000. He entered the competition as the highest-ranked Olympia contender and the favorite to reclaim the title. Nonetheless, Samson Dauda outperformed him to seize the top prize, with Walker finishing second and earning the Most Muscular award.

The results of the 2023 Arnold Classic have sparked considerable debate within the bodybuilding community, with many fans and commentators believing that Nick Walker should have emerged victorious. The ‘Mutant’, as Walker is known, has since called on his supporters to cease sharing hateful messages directed towards the judges and other competitors online. While some were unhappy with the outcome, Walker’s message of respect and sportsmanship has been praised by many within the sport.
Chris Aceto, a highly regarded figure in the bodybuilding world, recently expressed his disapproval of the Arnold Classic judging, claiming that Nick Walker was unfairly overlooked in favor of Samson Dauda. Aceto, who has worked with many top athletes throughout his career, believes that Walker would have emerged victorious in a head-to-head showdown against Dauda. His comments have added fuel to the debate surrounding the competition and have led many to question the accuracy of the scorecards.
Despite falling short in his bid to win the Arnold Classic, Nick Walker has remained positive and focused on the future. In a recent interview, he revealed that he had been battling a stomach bug during the competition but had pushed through regardless. While some have criticized the judging, Walker is satisfied with the package he brought to the stage and does not believe that Dauda did enough to defeat him convincingly. Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler has also weighed in on the debate, stating that the competition was so close that any of the top four athletes could have emerged victorious.

Olympia judge Terrick El Guindy has become the latest bodybuilding expert to heap praise on Nick Walker, the rising star in the Men’s Open division. In a recent YouTube video, El Guindy not only applauded Walker for his impressive physical improvements but also backed him to clinch the prestigious Sandow trophy. “The unstoppable force, Nick Walker,” El Guindy exclaimed. “He’s the unstoppable undeniable force. He keeps moving up. Don’t sleep on him. He keeps telling us he’ll be Mr. Olympia, and by the way things are going, this guy might actually do it.” El Guindy also addressed the critics who had doubted Walker’s shape, saying he had silenced them all.
According to El Guindy, there may be some tension brewing between Nick Walker and Derek Lunsford, two of the most promising young bodybuilders in the Men’s Open division. Speaking about the two athletes’ backstage interaction during the Mr. Olympia competition, El Guindy suggested that they may be sizing each other up as rivals for the top spot in the division once reigning champion Hadi Choopan retires. “Those are the young guns coming out,” he said. “Eventually, Hadi will come out of the party, and Derek and Nick will be fighting for the Mr. Olympia. There’s a bit of tension between them. Obviously, they’re going to say on camera that they love each other, but I don’t think Nick Walker liked Derek coming in on his first Olympia and surpassing him.”

Bodybuilding Hall of Famer Chris Cormier has urged Nick Walker to focus on developing his lower body muscles for future competitions. According to Cormier, while Walker has well-built pecs and arms, his lower half needs work. “He was flat for a lot of that time training for the show,” Cormier said. “His lower half, if he gets that to where it needs to be, everybody needs to look out.”
During his critique, Cormier also noted that Walker needs to improve his posing technique. Specifically, he pointed out that Walker tends to keep his legs straight in every pose, which can highlight any deficiencies. Cormier suggested that Walker put more weight on one leg, get on that hip a little bit, and emphasize the inside development on the quad to add more shape to his body. “That’s what’s going to make a big difference when you hit so many shots,” Cormier said. He also advised Walker to “contort” his body to achieve different angles and looks during posing.
El Guindy highlights Dauda’s growth in bodybuilding under coach Milos Sarcev
In a recent video, Olympia judge Terrick El Guindy showered praise on Samson Dauda’s coach, Milos Sarcev, for the incredible progress made by the bodybuilder under his guidance. El Guindy acknowledged Sarcev’s role in helping Dauda place fourth at the Arnold Classic and make it to the first callout at the Mr. Olympia competition. He further lauded Dauda’s improvement and compared him to the most improved player in the NBA, saying, “if we had that [award] in bodybuilding, Samson Dauda is that guy.”
Nick Walker, the bodybuilder dubbed “The Mutant,” is eager to test his boundaries this year. In his previous competition, Walker showcased a more streamlined appearance, but he has promised to bring back the freak factor he is known for. Fans eagerly anticipate the package he will bring to the stage in his next showing.
