Polish strongman Mateusz Kieliszkowski had hoped to clinch his first World’s Strongest Man (WSM) victory in 2022. However, two months before the contest, he withdrew from the event due to a leg injury. This unfortunate incident resulted in a three-year hiatus from the WSM.

Kieliszkowski’s Return Nears

Kieliszkowski’s return to the WSM is now just around the corner. The event will take place in Myrtle Beach, SC, from April 19 to 23, 2023. The athlete is putting in his best efforts to make a comeback.

Kieliszkowski’s Truck-Pulling Feat

On April 12, 2023, Kieliszkowski took to Instagram to share a video of himself doing the unthinkable – pulling a 32-ton (64,000-pound) truck. Although the athlete listed the weight as 70,547 pounds in his post, this is likely a typo or conversion error. This monstrous truck-pulling feat marks the final stage of Kieliszkowski’s 2023 WSM preparation. After this, he plans to take some time to rest and recuperate.

Kieliszkowski’s Training Timeline Unclear Ahead of WSM Return

Mateusz Kieliszkowski’s return to the World’s Strongest Man competition is approaching, but the details of his training timeline are unclear. In an Instagram post, the Polish strongman revealed that he only spent three weeks on hardcore preparation for the 2023 WSM. In 2019, Kieliszkowski’s preparation was more comprehensive, but he still placed second in the competition. While he did not explain why he took less time to prepare this year, it may be related to his recent leg injury or his participation in the 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic in March, where he earned second place. Despite the lack of clarity, Kieliszkowski is not setting high expectations for his individual performance, hoping for a solid qualification to build on in the future.

Kieliszkowski Pulling Out All the Stops in WSM Prep

Mateusz Kieliszkowski may not be setting high expectations for his performance in the World’s Strongest Man competition, but he is still pulling out all the stops in his preparation. The Polish strongman shared an Instagram video of himself pulling a 32-ton truck, which he called the last stop in his 2023 WSM prep. The monstrous feat follows three weeks of hardcore preparation and Kieliszkowski’s participation in the 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic in March, where he earned second place. Despite his recent leg injury and unclear training timeline, Kieliszkowski is determined to make a strong return to the competition.

“Three weeks behind is not enough time to make miracles happen,” Kieliszkowski wrote in a translation. “That’s why I don’t ask for much from myself. The goal is to get to the [2023 WSM] Final and then everything will be clear in the process. Next recovery, return to training and old form and then hit 2024 with full force.”

Kieliszkowski’s Strongman Record

Mateusz Kieliszkowski is a well-known elite strongman with an impressive record. At 29 years old, he has established himself as a top contender in the sport. According to Strongman Archives, Kieliszkowski has achieved several impressive accomplishments throughout his career. He has been crowned Poland’s Strongest Man five times, from 2015 to 2019. He has also won the Giants Live World Tour Finals twice, in 2018 and 2019. In addition, he was the winner of the 2019 World’s Ultimate Strongman competition.

Kieliszkowski’s Return to Prominence

In the late 2010s, Kieliszkowski emerged as a strongman powerhouse to be reckoned with. His runner-up performance at the 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic could be an indication that “The Polish Terminator” is on his way back to prominence. Although he withdrew from the 2022 World’s Strongest Man due to a leg injury, Kieliszkowski is making a comeback in Myrtle Beach. While he may feel like he’s behind the eight-ball with the 2023 WSM approaching, there’s a good chance he could surprise many people with his performance. Despite not setting high expectations for himself, Kieliszkowski’s experience and skill make him a formidable competitor in the world of strongman.
