“This year, in January, when sciatica hit, I developed an ego and thought I could just push through it. Where, in the past, I would take every single step necessary in physical therapy to keep it at bay and also recover from it.”

Licis attributed his underwhelming performance at the 2024 Arnold Strongman Classic to the persistent sciatica issue. This setback prompted him to take proactive steps to address his health concerns, leading to his withdrawal from the 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition.
