Jeremy Buendia, making a comeback in the bodybuilding scene, approaches the off-season with a determined focus. During the holiday season, he prioritizes family moments before gearing up for the upcoming year. In a recent YouTube video, Jeremy Buendia shares details of his off-season diet, balancing weight maintenance with indulgence in guilty pleasures.

“Woke up this morning at 198.5. I really haven’t been on a set diet the past five weeks. I really haven’t been doing terrible. It’s up until my workout, my post-workout are good then usually towards the evening we eat whatever we want, order whatever we want.”

Jeremy Buendia returned to Men’s Physique at the 2023 Mr. Olympia, securing an eighth-place spot, his first competition since the 2018 loss to Brandon Hendrickson. Furthermore, fans welcomed the former four-time Men’s Physique champion back to the stage.

Additionally, expressing some dissatisfaction with his placement, Buendia acknowledged the success of his comeback. He noted that, compared to his competitors, he wasn’t as physically defined but expressed gratitude for the positive return.

Looking ahead, Buendia revealed his ambitious goals for the upcoming year. Moreover, he declared his intention to return in 2024 in peak condition, vying for the coveted title.

During the holiday season, Jeremy Buendia shares insights into his off-season eating habits. Moreover, striving to preserve his weight while enjoying festive foods, he remains committed to family moments, steering clear of undue pressure despite facing side effects from improper eating.

“Last week I felt super bloated and watery and I felt fat last week. I woke up this morning feeling a little btter because I haven’t been eating as crappy at nighttime. Trying to enjoy the holidays.”

“At least up until the first of the year. I am going to relax, still getting my workouts in. Eating probably decent throughout the day, then at nighttime enjoying food with my family and friends.”

“Once prep starts, it’s going to be locked in all the way until Olympia in October” Buendia said.

Meal 1:

A Nutrient-Rich Breakfast Jeremy Buendia kicks off his day with a wholesome breakfast, consisting of:

  • 2 eggs
  • 240g egg whites
  • 90g oats
  • 100g strawberries
  • 20g almond butter

Meal 2:

Shrimp and Rice Delight For his second meal, Jeremy enjoys a satisfying combination of:

  • 160g shrimp
  • 250g rice

Jeremy delves into the specifics of his pre-workout meal and shares strategies for ensuring sufficient carb intake to maximize gains.

“I like this meal before I train because it doesn’t bother my stomach. It’s not a lot of carbs right now but I do intra-workout carbs as well and then I’ll bring some rice krispies with me if I feel like I’m not getting a good enough pump in.

I don’t have to worry about being flat because I eat so much food at night and carbs at night.”

“My goal is maintain my weight, not get too fat. Keep a decent body composition the next few months. You know, being completely off right now I’m trying to get myself healthy after you know a long prep all year long.

That’s my priority. The food up to this point has been pretty lenient. It’s what’s comfortable, there’s no stress” Buendia said.

Buendia’s Current Diet

While Jeremy Buendia’s current diet appears laid-back, the anticipation is that in the coming months, he’ll revert to his massive 5,941-calorie days, reminiscent of his epic Mr. Olympia Men’s Physique comeback.

With this glimpse into his eating routine, fans eagerly await Buendia’s return to vie for the coveted title in the Men’s Physique division at the upcoming 2023 Olympia in Las Vegas, Nevada, scheduled from October 10-13.
