Jason Momoa’s Refrigerator Reveals His Fitness Secrets for 2023

Momoa’s fridge is primarily stocked with pre and post-workout drinks, providing insight into his fitness regimen for 2023.

“Here’s my fridge. Everything a growing boy needs: water, Mananalu baby, we don’t do plastic. Pre-workout, post-workout, [Guiness Beer], most importantly, part-time workout. And if you’re on a diet, aloha Ham. Chill-out-and-go-to-bed workout, might have some fresh kava.”

“Do bone for the dog. And most importantly, poi baby [starchy good paste with with taro root]. That’s the secret [beer],” said Jason Momoa.

Momoa’s Training Routine

  • Rock climbing

Momoa’s Thoughts on Gym while Demonstrating Dumbbell Rows and Barbell Curls

“Kettle bells have been really huge in my life. I travel with kettle bells and it helps me with my core, fighting, and doing stunts. Aside from that, bands. I’ll do band work on set, it’s just so simple and easy. I like stuff I can just take with me anywhere you know what I mean. Boxing is always fun and it keeps my cardio up.”

“And then also to keep up with cardio there’s rock climbing, riding bikes, so I just got these gravel bikes, they are fun as hell, mountain bikes, and riding motorcycles isn’t really a workout but mentally it clears my head. Yeah, I like the mountain bike, I like to go downhill fast. I’m not allowed to go downhill anymore because I’m obviously shooting a movie.”

Swing Big Bells

Kettlebell swings are one of Momoa’s go-to exercises for building explosive hip power. They also work your abs and forearms, making it a full-body workout. Momoa recommends starting with three sets of six to eight reps, three times a week.

Punch With Resistance

Momoa has found a way to make heavy-bag work even more challenging by wrapping a resistance band around the bag and his waist. This method increases cardio intensity and power demands. Momoa recommends doing 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off, for five rounds.

Crawl Like a Bear

Bear crawls are excellent for building core strength. Momoa does them by going forward and backward on all fours, with his knees off the floor and his back flat. Doing this exercise for 40 seconds on, 20 seconds off, for four rounds, will surely leave you feeling the burn.

Climb With Heart

Climbing is one of Momoa’s passions, and it’s an excellent workout for the forearms, abs, and back muscles. Dead hangs and pull-ups are two exercises that Momoa recommends doing three times a week to strengthen your climbing game.
