Toomey shared a video of her complete performance of workout 23.3 on her YouTube channel, showcasing her ability to complete challenging movements such as landing wall walks, double-unders, handstand push-ups, and barbell cycling despite her pregnancy. During the Open, Toomey weighed around 154 pounds, significantly heavier than her usual competition weight of around 138 pounds.
The workout was timed by Samantha Briggs, the 2012 Fittest Woman on Earth®. The video can be viewed on Toomey’s YouTube channel.
Due to her pregnancy, Toomey had to modify her technique during the snatch portion of the workout. Instead of struggling with the load or squatting under the bar, her challenge was to pull the weight forward more than her usual technique to ensure that the bar was at a safe distance from her belly. However, pulling the weight further forward made it more difficult for her to get under the barbell, and since she couldn’t risk fighting to save a rep, the snatch became more challenging for her.
The virtual Quarterfinals are scheduled to start on March 16, 2023, and only the top 10 percent of the global participants in the CrossFit Open will be eligible to qualify for it.
