Lorena Blanco, an IFBB Pro League Bikini competitor, has dies at 37. According to La Voz de Galicia, she suffered a heart attack at her home on Saturday, July 26. Furthermore, Medical personnel transported her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors pronounced her dead that same day.

Blanco, also known as Lorena Blanco Pita, turned pro at the 2023 NPC Worldwide European Championships. She made her professional debut the same weekend at the Europa Pro, placing 11th. During the 2024 season, she entered seven contests. Her best finish was fourth at the Tahoe Pro.

In 2025, Blanco hit her stride. She entered four shows and earned silver at the Kökény Classic Hungary Pro. Her last competition was the Gomesia Ultimate Battle Pro Medellin Supershow, held July 18–20. She finished 12th overall.

IFBB Pro Bikini Athlete Lorena Blanco Dies at 37 from Heart Attack

Blanco had not confirmed her next contest. Still, many believed she was preparing for one more run to qualify for the Bikini Olympia. Furthermore, her steady improvement had made her a strong contender for a breakthrough.

“You were the wonder. Your kindness shone on everyone who came near you. Every member of the staff will remember you forever,” the IFBB Pro League Hungary office wrote in an Instagram tribute.

“At the end of the competition, you thanked each and every one of us individually. You stood quietly and patiently backstage after the awards ceremony, with sparkling eyes, to thank the promoter for one of the most outstanding achievements of your professional career.”

“With your second-place finish at the Kökény Classic, you were just a hair’s breadth away from fulfilling your dreams and qualifying for the Bikini Olympia. The hug you gave to express your gratitude is forever etched in the soul of the writer of these lines! Rest in peace, Lorena! On this occasion, we would like to express our condolences to your family, husband, and coach! We’ll meet on the heavenly stage!”

Her final season was shaping up to be the best of her career. Many noted her improved conditioning, graceful stage presence, and growing confidence. She brought elegance to every appearance and made a lasting impression on fellow athletes and fans alike.

Blanco is survived by her husband and coach, Isi Bolaños. Her funeral took place at Velatorios Lucenses on Sunday, July 27. A private burial followed the ceremony.
