For many athletes, competing is not just a job, it’s an art form. Hunter McIntyre, the reigning HYROX World Champion, is no exception. According to a press release by HYROX, McIntyre had to lose weight he had put on as an Olympic Games hopeful in canoeing in order to compete in the 2023 HYROX season. He successfully shed the extra weight and his latest world-record time only further establishes him as the athlete to beat at the upcoming 2023 HYROX World Championships.

In an Instagram post featuring a Q&A session with McIntyre, he shared that he has already calculated the fastest possible time he could theoretically run an HYROX race in. However, his weight still poses a challenge. McIntyre believes that he can run a 52-minute HYROX event if he manages to reach his target weight of 192 pounds. It remains to be seen whether he can achieve this ambitious goal, but fans of the sport will undoubtedly be rooting for him.
