In preparation for his surgery to repair a torn pec muscle, Hafthor Bjornsson has revealed some of the advanced recovery methods he’s using in a recent YouTube video.
Special shake and supplement packages
To help boost muscle repair, connective tissue, and blood plasma levels, Bjornsson visited a health specialist who provided him with a special shake, some drinks, and supplement packages to use in the days leading up to his surgery. While the ingredients were not listed, the aim was to aid his recovery process.
Infrared light bed, cryogenic chamber, and hyperbaric chamber
In addition to the shake and supplement packages, Bjornsson also utilized a combination of high-tech recovery tools. He did three cycles of 20 minutes on the infrared light bed, followed by three minutes in the cryogenic chamber, before finishing with an hour in the hyperbaric chamber. The goal was to help with muscle recovery and reduce inflammation.
