Gabriel Ganley, Brazilian Bodybuilder and Fitness Influencer, Died at 22
According to multiple Brazilian reports, Ganley’s sponsor IntegralMédica confirmed his death on May 23. Furthermore, the company described him as its “eternal bbzinho” in a public tribute shared online.
Meanwhile, an official cause of death has not been released by Ganley’s family or representatives. Although several bodybuilding pages circulated rumors involving hypoglycemia, no verified statement has confirmed those claims.
Importantly, hypoglycemia occurs when blood sugar levels drop dangerously low and can become life-threatening without treatment. However, no official medical report has linked the condition to Ganley’s death at this time.
Furthermore, Brazilian outlet reports, Ganley was born in Rio de Janeiro and started lifting weights at 15 years old. Initially, he became inspired after watching bodybuilding icons from the 1980s and 1990s.
At first, Ganley’s mother reportedly limited him to only three gym sessions per week because she feared injuries. Nevertheless, his passion for fitness continued growing, and he eventually shifted his focus completely toward bodybuilding after practicing martial arts earlier in life.
Soon afterward, Ganley’s social media presence exploded through viral workout clips and physique updates. Consequently, he quickly became one of Brazil’s most recognizable young bodybuilding influencers.
Viral Strength Videos Expanded His Audience
One of Ganley’s most viral moments came when a video showed him performing a 500-kilogram leg press. As expected, the clip spread rapidly across bodybuilding pages and fitness communities online.
Following that exposure, Ganley’s audience expanded well beyond hardcore bodybuilding fans in Brazil. In fact, his entertaining personality and gym-focused humor helped him attract mainstream fitness followers as well.
By 2025, Brazilian reports stated that Ganley had already surpassed 1.2 million followers while working with prominent bodybuilding figures, including coach Jorlan Vieira. Eventually, that number climbed to roughly 2 million followers before his death.
According to Brazilian outlet Beltrão Agora, Ganley studied Physical Education for two years at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. During that period, he reportedly started posting fitness-related content online.
Later, Ganley moved to São Paulo in 2023 after signing sponsorship agreements. At the same time, he began pursuing bodybuilding competitions more seriously.
As his online popularity increased, Ganley balanced fitness content creation with his competitive ambitions. Therefore, many younger lifters started viewing him as both an entertainer and an aspiring bodybuilding athlete.

Gabriel Ganley’s Competitive Bodybuilding Journey
Initially, Ganley gained attention while promoting natural bodybuilding competitions in 2023 and 2024. During that period, he positioned himself as part of Brazil’s growing natural fitness scene.
Later on, Ganley openly told followers that he had started using anabolic steroids as he pursued greater size and competitive progress. Consequently, discussions surrounding his transformation became common across Brazilian fitness pages.
Earlier this year, Ganley reportedly withdrew from 2025 competitions after dealing with pneumonia. Nevertheless, reports indicated that he had been preparing for the Musclecontest Brasil in Curitiba before his death.
Bodybuilding Community Pays Tribute
Following the announcement, tributes immediately flooded social media from athletes and coaches throughout the bodybuilding world. In particular, Ramon Dino shared one of the most emotional messages.
In his tribute, Dino remembered Ganley as someone who was “always happy, always playful, always making those around him laugh.” Additionally, he reflected on training sessions and memories they shared together through sponsorship collaborations.
Meanwhile, Brazilian bodybuilder Gabriel Zancanelli described Ganley as “a unique personality” with remarkable charisma. Similarly, IFBB Pro Leandro Peres wrote that Ganley left behind “an eternal trail of light.”

Unfortunately, Ganley’s death adds to a painful stretch for the bodybuilding world in 2026. Throughout the year, the industry has already mourned several athletes and personalities.
Among those losses were Albert Beckles, Craig Monson, Bi Jiaqi, and Andrea Lorini. Consequently, many fans have reflected on how quickly the sport has lost influential figures this year.
At the same time, Ganley’s passing has resonated differently because of his age and massive online reach. For many younger fans, he represented the modern era of bodybuilding content creation and internet-driven fitness culture.
