Seven-time Olympia 212 champion James “Flex” Lewis made headlines in 2022 when he officially announced his retirement from bodybuilding, but the Welsh athlete has continued to stay in shape and document his progress on social media. Lewis, who has not competed since his final victory in 2018, recently shared a physique update on Instagram and revealed that he is currently weighing around 200 pounds.

In the post, Lewis can be seen performing a set of cable curls, showcasing his muscular physique and impressive arm development. He also revealed that he has lost over 60 pounds naturally since retiring from competitive bodybuilding, indicating that he did not use performance-enhancing drugs to achieve his recent results.

A Personal Transformation Challenge

Despite no longer competing, Lewis remains committed to his fitness and has set a new personal goal to add 10 to 15 pounds of muscle onto his frame. He has described this new endeavor as a “personal transformation challenge” and has expressed a desire to be “healthy, athletic, and jacked.”

In pursuit of this goal, Lewis has been doing cardio workouts seven days a week and training with weights two or three times weekly. He has also committed to a strict 4 a.m. wake-up time and a diet consisting of four or five daily meals, two of which are composed of only protein and fats, with no carbohydrates.

Sharing His Progress

Lewis has vowed to document his progress and share updates along the way, asking his 2.2 million followers for input on what he should share during the process. This not only allows fans to stay up-to-date on his progress but also provides an opportunity for others to learn from his journey and be inspired by his dedication to fitness.

A Dominant Career in Bodybuilding

During his career, Lewis was one of the most dominant non-heavyweight bodybuilders in the world, remaining undefeated in competition for nearly his entire professional career. Alongside his longtime coach Neil Hill, he won the Olympia 212 title every year from 2012 to 2018, as well as the inaugural Arnold Classic 212 title in 2014.

Retirement and New Ventures

Since his retirement, Lewis has shifted his focus to business ventures and family life. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he owns Dragon’s Lair Gym. In addition, he has been active on YouTube and with his podcast, providing insights into his fitness journey and offering advice to those looking to improve their own health and wellness.

Overview

At the end, James “Flex” Lewis, the seven-time Olympia 212 champion, recently shared a physique update on Instagram, along with his transformation goals of adding 10 to 15 pounds of muscle and becoming “healthy, athletic, and jacked.” He plans to achieve his goals naturally through cardio workouts, weight training, and a strict diet. He also plans to document his progress and share updates with his followers. Before retiring from competition, Lewis had an impressive career as a dominant non-heavyweight bodybuilder. Since retiring, he’s focused on business ventures, family life, and staying active on YouTube and his podcast.
