At the 2023 EPF European Open Classic Powerlifting Championships in Tartu, Estonia, Enahoro Asein took center stage. Moreover, during the event from December 4-9, the second day carried on the trend of record-breaking performances. As a standout in the competition, Asein particularly shone in the deadlift category. Enahoro Asein remarkable accomplishment of a 380-kilogram pull not only captivated onlookers but also established a new U83KG IPF Raw Deadlift World Record.

In subsequent attempts, nonetheless, Asein strategically approached his deadlifts. He began with a modest 355-kilogram lift. Subsequently, he ambitiously increased the weight to 373 kilograms, surpassing the existing World Record. Unfortunately, the second attempt proved unsuccessful. Nevertheless, Asein resiliently opted for a final attempt, successfully lifting an impressive 380 kilograms.

Throughout the deadlift execution, guided by Asein’s methodical approach, he stood out. Participating in the raw division, he adhered to using only a lifting belt. Employing a sumo stance and a mixed grip, he showcased a distinctive style. Remarkably, the execution of his deadlift appeared seamless. He demonstrated proficiency through each phase of the lift.

Having previously held the U83KG IPF World Record at 370.5 kilograms, Asein showcased significant improvement. This record, initially set at the 2023 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships, was surpassed with determination and success as Asein triumphantly lifted 380 kilograms. This achievement, underscored not only his physical prowess but also his dedication to continuous improvement in the sport.

Enahoro Asein Full Performance

Throughout his performance, Enahoro Asein faced challenges, missing three of his nine attempts—one in each event. Fortunately, these mistakes didn’t cost him the title, but they added difficulty to his overall performance. Both Asein and Jurins Kengamu concluded the day with an 812.5-kilogram (1,791.3-pound) Total, leading to a tiebreaker. Notably, due to a slight difference in bodyweight, with Enahoro at 82.4 kilograms (181.7 pounds) and Kengamu slightly heavier, Enahoro secured the victory.

In his three-year powerlifting journey, furthermore, Enahoro Asein has actively competed in seven sanctioned competitions. Within these events, specifically, he earned three gold medals—two from the National Hungarian Championships and one from the 2023 EPF European Championships. Moreover, Enahoro secured silver and bronze medals at the 2023 and 2022 IPF World Championships, respectively. Now, following the attainment of his first major international title, there is no doubt that Enahoro will approach future appearances with increased confidence and motivation.
