Eddie Hall, a former World’s Strongest Man and an iconic figure in strength sports, recently pushed his strength to new extremes; however, this attempt came with painful consequences. In a video posted on October 21, 2024, Eddie Hall shared footage of the exact moment he tear his tricep. Specifically, he attempted the lift during a grueling shoulder press workout with fellow Strongman Iron Biby, which highlighted just how intense these training sessions can be.

The injury occurred as Hall attempted a massive 220-pound dumbbell shoulder press, a feat that few can manage. Notably, Hall successfully completed two reps, pushing his limits with each lift. Yet, as he reached for the third, the strain became overwhelming, leading to the painful tear. Ultimately, this incident underscores the risks even seasoned athletes like Hall face in their relentless pursuit of strength.

Eddie Hall, known for pushing his physical limits, has never avoided extreme challenges. For instance, in 2016, he set a world record by deadlifting 1,102 pounds (500 kg), astonishing fans and athletes alike. As a result, this feat secured his place among the greats. Moreover, in 2017, he claimed the World’s Strongest Man title, further cementing his legacy.

However, his record faced a challenge in 2020. Specifically, Hall’s longtime rival, Hafthor Bjornsson, surpassed it by lifting 1,104 pounds (501 kg). Although Bjornsson edged out Hall by just 2 pounds, Hall’s influence remains undiminished. Indeed, his strength and competitive spirit continue to inspire others in the sport.

Meanwhile, Hall’s recent injury happened during a high-stakes training session with Iron Biby, a Strongman known for his pressing power. Together, they attempted a 220-pound dumbbell shoulder press, a lift that demands intense strength and precision. Although Hall completed two reps, he felt a sharp pain after the second—indicating the onset of his injury. Ultimately, this incident highlights the risks athletes take to test their limits.

Visibly frustrated, Hall remarked, “Fuck sake. No, it’s gone look, certainly muscle but I felt it go. What an idiot. Yeah, you can see it all rolled up, it’s there you can see the hole.” He later added, “I just heard the popping, you can see where it’s rolled up a little bit.”

Despite the injury, Eddie Hall remained composed. In fact, he addressed his audience while explaining the visible signs of his torn tricep. Thanks to his extensive gym experience and understanding of his body, Hall instantly recognized the severity of the situation.

What’s Next for Eddie Hall?

Although the injury is a significant setback, Eddie Hall has consistently shown resilience in the face of adversity. Afterretiring from competitive Strongman in 2018, he ventured into various fitness and combat sports. Currently, he is preparing for an arm wrestling match against fellow Strongman legend Brian Shaw. Set for December 14, 2025, this date provides Hall ample time to recover from his tricep tear.

Undoubtedly, both Hall’s fans and the strength sports community will closely monitor his recovery. His competitive nature rarely allows him to stay sidelined for long. Additionally, Hall’s forays into arm wrestling and mixed martial arts (MMA) further reflect his desire to push boundaries beyond traditional Strongman competitions.

Moreover, Hall has made a name for himself in the combat sports world, particularly in MMA. Notably, his debut fight featured an unusual two-on-one bout against the Neffati brothers. In a dominant performance, Hall knocked out both opponents, showcasing his power and skill.

To prepare for the fight, Hall underwent intense MMA training. Remarkably, he even broke a record previously held by UFC Champion Alex Pereira. Specifically, Hall scored an impressive 208,000 on a punching machine, surpassing Pereira’s 191,000. This achievement underscores Hall’s punching power and athleticism, even after retiring from Strongman.

Ultimately, Hall’s injury serves as a reminder of the risks associated with pushing the body to its limits. However, his career illustrates a remarkable resilience. Throughout his life, Hall has faced immense challenges, consistently finding ways to return stronger. Whether it’s breaking deadlift records or stepping into an MMA cage, Hall continues to defy expectations.

Recovery Time

Fortunately, he has enough time to recover fully before his arm wrestling showdown with Brian Shaw. Given his history of overcoming obstacles, Hall is likely to use this setback as motivation for a strong return. Thus, fans can rest assured that this injury won’t keep the former World’s Strongest Man down for long.
