In an event that has left a community in shock, a mother of four tragically died at a Washington L.A. Fitness gym. Delrie Rosario, 36, succumbed to injuries sustained after falling from a treadmill during her workout.
A Fateful Workout: Sister Narrates the Incident
The ill-fated incident unfolded while Rosario was exercising with her sister, Marissa Woods.
In an interview with KIRO 7, Woods recounted the harrowing moments, stating, “She tried to slow down the machine. I thought maybe she just missed a step. She just collapsed, hit her head on the machine.”
Woods’ desperate pleas for help yielded assistance from fellow gym-goers, although she claimed the gym’s staff were seemingly too stunned to respond.
Mother and Provider: Remembering Delrie Rosario
Rushed to a local hospital after the accident, Rosario sadly didn’t survive. Beyond being a devoted mother to her four children, she was a hard worker, maintaining two jobs to ensure their welfare.
Woods fondly remembered her sister’s unwavering dedication to her family, saying, “A mother first. Always everything she did was for kids. She worked so hard for kids.”

A Lasting Gift: Rosario’s Organ Donation
In a final act of generosity, Rosario, who had chosen to be an organ donor, gave the gift of life to others following her untimely demise. According to a GoFundMe campaign launched for her children, Rosario’s heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver found new purpose in helping patients in desperate need.
Echoes of Tragedy: Another Fatal Gym Accident
Regrettably, Rosario’s tragic death is not an isolated event in the fitness world. A similar heart-wrenching incident unfolded just days earlier at The Paradise Bali fitness center in Sanur. Personal trainer and bodybuilder Justyn Vicky met an untimely end during his routine workout.
A Workout Gone Wrong: The Fatal Incident
Vicky was in the midst of performing a 210 kg back squat, assisted by a spotter, when disaster struck. A video of the incident shows Vicky, weighed down by the immense load, struggling to complete the squat. As he failed to disengage from the bar, he fell forward, the bar cruelly rolling onto his neck. The mishap resulted in a grave neck injury, severing the vital nerves connected to his heart and lungs.
Despite immediate surgical intervention, Vicky’s life couldn’t be saved. His death, alongside Rosario’s, underscores the risks inherent in even routine workouts, serving as a somber reminder of the fragile balance between pushing physical boundaries and ensuring safety in the world of fitness.
