Dani Speegle Joins New ‘American Gladiators’ Reboot Cast

Last June, The Hollywood Reporter announced Amazon’s order for a reboot of American Gladiators. This decision followed successful revivals in Australia and the United Kingdom. Together, these international versions sparked renewed excitement for the classic competition. Five‑time CrossFit Games athlete Dani Speegle is joining the new ‘American Gladiators’ reboot, helping to bring the ’80s favorite back to life.

Originally, American Gladiators premiered in 1989. At that time, it was a groundbreaking reality competition series. It featured amateur athletes competing against a cast of “Gladiators” through physically demanding challenges. The eventstested strength, speed, and endurance. Over its seven-season run, the show became a cultural touchstone and inspired similar programs worldwide.

Now, Amazon is preparing a fresh take on the series. Earlier this summer, the new Gladiators were announced. The castincludes 16 athletes, five of whom are professional wrestlers from WWE and AEW. Most notably, five-time CrossFit Games competitor Dani Speegle is joining the ranks.

Dani Speegle – Five-Time CrossFit Games Athlete Joins New ‘American Gladiators’ Reboot

Speegle’s career in CrossFit spans over a decade. She has competed in the CrossFit Games five times, showing elite athleticism and consistency. Her best finish came in 2020, when she placed 13th overall. Most recently, she finished 36th at the 2024 Games. Currently, she competes with CrossFit Invictus, which finished 11th in the Semifinal and qualified for the 2025 Games.

Beyond CrossFit, Speegle gained national attention in 2020. She and fellow CrossFit athlete Matt Chan won NBC’s The Titan Games, a competition featuring intense physical challenges. Her involvement in the American Gladiators reboot continues her growing presence in televised athletic contests.

Meanwhile, the new American Gladiators reboot seeks to balance nostalgia with innovation. Classic events such as “Gauntlet,” “Hang Tough,” and “The Eliminator” will return. At the same time, producers promise new twists and challenges. WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin will host the series. Though the premiere date has not been announced, episodes will stream on Amazon Prime.
