Chris Bumstead shares insights into his mental and physical self-improvement goals for the new year. In a recent YouTube video, Bumstead highlights the importance of his 2024 goals and maintaining a consistent routine Strategy as key factors in his ongoing motivation.

“It all comes back to a lack of humility, the more humble you are, the more you’re willing to work for something, the more you’re willing to learn. I just think it’s one of the best traits to have to continue any form of improvement, especially self-improvement.”

Amid obstacles, five-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead remains determined. Moreover, a lat tear and impending fatherhood are part of his journey’s challenges, yet he’s resolute in elevating his performance in 2024.

After a temporary break post-Olympia victory and a hair transplant, Cbum returns to the gym. Also, adopting a ‘push-pull-legs-style’ training split, he gears up for a comeback.

As a standard-bearer in Classic Physique, Bumstead commits to surpassing his own achievements. The challenges of holding the Olympia title are openly shared, emphasizing the weight and difficulty of maintaining that status.

Chris Bumstead sets his sights on 2024 goals strategy To tackle the Challenges of Bodybuilding

In a recent YouTube video, Chris Bumstead delved into his objectives for 2024 and the anticipated challenges of the upcoming season. Despite acknowledging the difficulty ahead, Cbum views these trials as opportunities for both physical and mental enhancement.

“What comes into my mind first is the challenge it [bodybuilding] puts on me, the challenge to continuously keep getting better, find new ways to stay motivated. Find new ways to be more consistent and that goal is to keep pushing something better and better.”

“It’s just like a physical goal that I can chase that makes me internally and mentally a better person as well. It’s a physical goal as I keep chasing and pushing and winning more Olympias, putting on more muscles, getting a better physique, and stuff it comes with all these mental challenges that force me into these situations that are really difficult. I think putting yourself in difficult situations is the way you become stronger and better in many aspects of life.”

Chris Bumstead discussed his struggle with confidence on stage, revealing that it wasn’t until his fourth title win that he truly believed he couldn’t be beaten.

“I’m not always confident. I definitely haven’t always been confident. I had to earn the confidence that I do have. Like the first three Olympias and 10 shows before that, whenever I got on stage I was like super nervous didn’t feel confident in myself” Bumstead said.

“I didn’t really believe I was going to win the Olympia, honestly, it wasn’t really till the last two Olympia where in my mind, I’m like I’m going to win this one.

This is mine. No one is going to beat me. It took me four titles to really feel like that. This year was the first time I ever said it out loud.”

Bumstead Opens Up About His 2024 goals Strategy and the Key to His Motivation

Achieving five-time Classic Physique champion status required dedication and sacrifices over time. Bumstead’s significant lifestyle change included giving up alcohol.

“Stopping drinking. It was more so just a complete lifestyle change I made in my life where I used to party go out and eat bad, XYZ, then all of a sudden I just switched to being full-bodybuilder mode.”

“The biggest thing I really cut out was drinking. I used to drink quite a bit, like 2-3 times a week when I was in college. While I was still able to make gains and progress obviously with drinking, you’re not eating that whole night and you’re clogging up your liver, so your ability to burn fat through your liver is slowing down.”

“You’re hungover the next day or two days depending on how much you drank. Your workouts are suffering, your recovery is suffering, everything is just off.”

Finally, despite five Classic Physique titles, Chris Bumstead faces challenging days, grappling with workout reluctance and dietary discipline.

“Structured routines is something that pops in my mind as very helpful [for discipline]. This year when I was really struggling at the part where I tore my lat and I had to keep my discipline and keep locked in.”

Furthermore, to combat these low moments, Chris Bumstead relies on his strict routine, which eventually becomes systematic.

“Wake up at the same time every day, do your cardio the same time every day, breakfast, everything into a complete routine so on those days where you feel like you really don’t want to do it, you don’t want to do fuckin cardio, you don’t want to train, whatever, it just doesn’t matter, because it’s a part of your routine you just become a robot and do it without even thinking. Just run through the days and get through it the best you possibly can.”

Year after year, Chris Bumstead showcases continuous improvement, as formidable challengers like Ramon Rocha Queiroz test him. Notably, Queiroz, the 2023 Arnold Classic champion, and Urs Kalecinski aim to dethrone the Classic Physique Olympia champion.

Furthermore, the highly anticipated 60th Mr. Olympia is set for October 10-13. Moreover, the Las Vegas Convention Center will host elite bodybuilders worldwide, all vying for the sport’s most prestigious prize.
