Brian Shaw, a four-time World’s Strongest Man, has made a dramatic change. More importantly, Brian Shaw dropped 40-Pound of fat and revealing a leaner frame transformation.
To document his progress, he recorded two separate body fat tests. As expected, the measurements confirmed the success of his transformation.
For this challenge, he relied on a strict diet plan. Specifically, his nutrition coach, Nathan Payton, designed the program to help him cut weight and improve in arm wrestling.
After months of preparation, he finally put his strength to the test. In December 2024, he faced 2017 World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall at King of the Table 13 and claimed victory.
Even after the match, he remained committed to his goals. Notably, he drastically reduced his food intake from the 10,000 to 15,000 calories he once consumed as a strongman.

Brian Shaw Drops 40-Pound in Striking Body Transformation
Shaw took the first step in his testing process with his wife, Keri, by his side. First, he underwent an InBody test, which measured his weight and body fat percentage. Wearing clothes, he registered at 377 pounds with 16.3% body fat and a lean body mass of 315.9 pounds. Meanwhile, Keri checked in at 151.8 pounds with 21.5% body fat.
Shortly after, Shaw moved to a more advanced test. This time, he completed a hydrostatic submersion test, which required him to expel all the air from his lungs while submerged in water. Without extra clothing, he weighed 373.6 pounds, wearing only shorts.
To ensure accuracy, Shaw repeated the test three times. Each time, his body fat percentage landed at 16.8%, only slightly different from the earlier result. His lean body mass came in at 311 pounds. Similarly, Keri’s weight measured 148.8 pounds, with a reduced body fat score of 19.7%.
Previously, Shaw had also undergone a DEXA Scan. Research suggests this method provides reliable results compared to other fat-measuring techniques. Throughout his weight-loss journey, he remained disciplined, allowing himself only one “cheat” meal on Christmas Day.
Despite shedding fat, Shaw focused on maintaining muscle. He expressed satisfaction with his lean body mass but emphasized that he would continue tracking his strength. Cutting weight did not mean cutting power.
Looking ahead, Shaw set clear goals. He planned to undergo more tests to monitor his progress and ensure his body fat kept decreasing while his lean mass stayed high.
“Body fat better be down, and lean body mass better be up.” —Brian Shaw
For now, Shaw’s next arm wrestling match remains unannounced. However, based on his transformation, fans can expect to see an even leaner, more refined version of the strongman when he steps back onto the table.
