On July 9, the two-time Classic Physique Olympia champion confirmed via Instagram that he will compete at the 2025 Olympia contest, scheduled for October 9–12 in Las Vegas. It will mark Ansley return to the stage for 2025 Olympia where he once ruled in Classic Physique —and another turn in his ongoing tug-of-war between divisions.
Last year, he had announced a move to the 212 division. But that plan never materialized. Instead, he competed at the 2024 Olympia in Classic Physique and finished fifth.
This year, the pattern repeated. Initially, Ansley aimed to debut in 212. However, as he explained in his announcement, a demanding travel schedule and business opportunities left him without the time to properly prepare.
“I made the decision to compete in the 212 division this year,” Ansley wrote. “However, due to traveling and potential business opportunities, the process of preparing for the 212 got away from me.”

Breon Ansley Announces Return to Classic Physique for 2025 Olympia
In 2024, the IFBB Pro League made changes to weight limits across divisions, including Classic Physique. That shift contributed to Ansley’s decision to stay put. His return added star power to a field still dominated by six-time Olympia winner Chris Bumstead—until Bumstead retired onstage last year.
Now, with the title wide open, Ansley has a window of opportunity. He won the Classic Physique Olympia title in 2017 and 2018. To this day, he remains the only past champion in the division still competing. And although he holds lifetime eligibility thanks to his wins, the IFBB Pro League must approve his entry due to the time passed since his last title. So far, no official invitation has been announced.
Even so, Ansley’s presence will heat up a division brimming with new contenders. Mike Sommerfeld, the 2025 Arnold Classic Physique winner, placed second behind Bumstead in 2024. Ramon Rocha Queiroz, a former Olympia runner-up, and Urs Kalecinski, a perennial threat, are also expected to battle for the top spot.
The qualification season closes on September 14. Until then, the final Olympia roster remains fluid.

Overview
Breon Ansley has spent nearly a decade at the top of Classic Physique and looking to return at 2025 Olympia. He entered the division in 2016 and quickly rose to dominance. In 2017 and 2018, he won back-to-back Olympia titles. After that, Chris Bumstead took over the top spot. Still, Ansley remained a consistent top-five finisher. In 2023, he announced plans to move to the 212 division. However, in both 2024 and 2025, he reversed course. Due to travel and business commitments, he stayed in Classic Physique. Now, with Bumstead retired, Ansley sees a clear opportunity. For that reason, he’s aiming to win his third Olympia title this October.
