Mallory O’Brien and Jeffrey Adler have emerged victorious in the 2023 CrossFit Open’s Individual Women’s and Men’s divisions, respectively. With their impressive performances, they have secured their place in the virtual Quarterfinals alongside the top 10 percent of athletes worldwide who have qualified for the next stage of the competition.

On March 16, 2023, CrossFit announced the release of five workouts that will comprise the Quarterfinals for Individual athletes. These workouts will test the competitors’ strength, agility, and endurance, and their results will be evaluated based on video recordings submitted to CrossFit at specific times. The stakes are high, as only a select few will advance to the next round and have the chance to compete for the title of Fittest on Earth.

Quarterfinal Workout One — Due Friday, March 17, 2023 at 3 p.m. EST
Quarterfinal Workout Two — Due Friday, March 17, 2023 at 3 p.m. EST
Quarterfinal Workout Three — Due Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 3 p.m. EST
Quarterfinal Workout Four — Due Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 3 p.m. EST
Quarterfinal Workout Five — Due Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 3 p.m. EST

Individual Tests for the 2023 CrossFit Quarterfinals

The following workouts are designed for individual competitors and can be attempted multiple times, with only the official submission to CrossFit being scored.

Test One: Complete the following exercises for time, adhering to the specified weights and distances:

9 Front Squats: Men – 225 pounds | Women – 155 pounds
9 Handstand Walks: 25 feet
15 Front Squats: Men – 185 pounds | Women – 125 pounds
15 Muscle-Ups
21 Front Squats: Men – 135 pounds | Women – 95 pounds
21 Chest-to-Wall Handstand Push-Ups Time cap: 15 minutes.

Test Two: Complete as many rounds as possible in 12 minutes of:

8 Dumbbell Snatches (one arm)
8 Overhead Walking Lunge Steps (one arm)
8 Dumbbell Snatches (other arm)
8 Overhead Walking Lunge Steps (other arm)
40 Crossovers Men: 70 pounds | Women: 50 pounds.
Test Three: Complete five rounds for time of:

5 Burpee Box Jump-Overs
1 Clean & Jerk Add one clean & jerk after each round. Men: 275-pound clean & jerk, 30-inch box | Women: 185-pound clean & jerk, 24-inch box. Time cap: 10 minutes.

Test Four: Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:

1000-meter Row
50 GHD Sit-Ups
500-meter Row
25 V-Ups.

Test Five: Complete the following exercises for time:

21 Deadlifts: Men – 315 pounds | Women – 205 pounds
21 Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups
15 Deadlifts: Men – 315 pounds | Women – 185 pounds
15 Bar Muscle-Ups
9 Deadlifts: Men – 315 pounds | Women – 205 pounds
9 Rope Climbs: 15 feet. Time cap: 15 minutes.
Note that workouts for the Team and Age Group divisions will be released on March 23, 2023.
