In addition, investigators stressed that the motive remains under investigation. Police described the scene as “brutal” and noted that the confrontation escalated quickly before turning deadly.

Moreover, he earned international recognition in 2024 when he finished as the runner-up at the World Fitness Federation Vice World Championships. His competitive record cemented his reputation as one of the top athletes in his region.

Community Tributes
Friends and fellow athletes remembered Aita as a competitor who embodied both discipline and humility. “He was the type of person who pushed you to be better without saying a word,” said one longtime training partner.
Moreover, clients who trained under Aita praised his dedication as a coach.
“He changed my life,” one client shared. “He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.”
Finally, messages of mourning spread across Brazilian bodybuilding forums and social media. Many called him a mentor, a role model, and a friend who inspired countless people to pursue fitness with passion.
Unfortunately, this is not the first case of violence to rattle the bodybuilding world. In June, Colombian champion Zunilda Hoyos Mendez was found dead in her Costa del Sol home. Her partner, Jarrod Gelling, allegedly beat her to death with a hammer before dying from self-inflicted stab wounds.
Moreover, investigators revealed Mendez had recently filed for divorce. Relatives described Gelling as “aggressive” and feared retaliation after the split.
Finally, both Aita’s and Mendez’s cases underscore a troubling pattern of domestic violence. Police stress that further updates on the investigation into Aita’s death will be released in the coming weeks.
