Bob Cicherillo provides insights into Nick Walker’s loss at the 2023 Arnold Classic.
Bob Cicherillo attributes Nick Walker’s loss at the 2023 Arnold Classic to not bringing his best to the show.
Bob Cicherillo sheds light on why Nick Walker failed to win his second Arnold Classic title in 2023 despite being the favorite according to Jay Cutler’s predictions:
Nick Walker was believed by some to be the clear favorite to win the 2023 Arnold Classic. Jay Cutler, a Mr. Olympia legend, had predicted that Walker would finish first. However, Walker ended up taking the runner-up spot to Samson Dauda and had to look ahead to future competitions in 2023. As one expert in the field of bodybuilding would explain, Walker’s placement in the competition was deserved.
Bob Cicherillo, a former IFBB Pro League competitor and a commentator for Mr. Olympia, released a video on his Voice of Bodybuilding channel on March 10, 2023. In the video, he discussed the proper way to judge a bodybuilding contest and provided specific insights into why Nick Walker was unable to win his second Arnold Classic title in three years.
Nick Walker advised to bring back the ‘FREAK Factor’ to win according to expert Bob Cicherillo
While some have considered the possibility of Samson Dauda being a legitimate force in the sport, Bob Cicherillo didn’t have any doubts. He made it clear that Dauda had the best and most balanced physique among the entire field, including Nick Walker and the third-place finisher Andrew Jacked. Dauda simply had the most well-rounded body.
Cicherillo asked rhetorically why Samson Dauda won the Arnold over Nick Walker, Andrew Jacked, and everyone else. He explained that Dauda had the best shape, symmetry, proportion, size, conditioning, and presentation. Although he wasn’t the best in every category, no one else could make a case overall. Cicherillo addressed responses that Walker had won some poses, but he argued that Walker lost outright to Dauda in terms of shape, symmetry, and proportion. Dauda had the better overall physique, which is why he won.
Cicherillo seemed to speak directly to Walker about his individual disappointment. He acknowledged that Walker was in top shape, but he had lost some of the “freak factor” that had made him one of the fastest rising stars in bodybuilding. Cicherillo believed that Walker had made a mistake by bringing down his freak factor, which couldn’t be streamlined. He encouraged Walker to go back to being a freak if he wanted to succeed.
