Big Ramy says he’s going to return to Mr. Olympia Stage once he is 100 % ready to compete and beat. Furthermore, the Egyptian bodybuilder, who once dominated the Open division, recently posted a short but direct message:
“I will be back.”
Now, fans are buzzing again.
Big Ramy, born Mamdouh Elssbiay, made his pro debut at the 2014 New York Pro — and won. That victory launched him into stardom.
Eventually, he reached the peak of the sport by winning the 2020 Mr. Olympia and defending his title at 2021 Mr. Olympia. His massive size and stage presence made him a favorite among fans around the world.
However, things shifted in 2022.
He returned to Olympia to defend his title but placed fifth. Then, in 2023, he chose not to compete at all. Yet throughout the offseason, he’s repeatedly hinted at a comeback — and his latest message has been the clearest.

Big Ramy Eyes Mr. Olympia Return But Wants to Be 100 % First
Ramy is not rushing back — he says it’s about health, form, and coming back with no weaknesses.
Ramy shared that he has spent the past year fixing multiple issues with his physique. He made it clear that if he doesn’t look right, he won’t compete.
“I’m trying my best to be in Olympia this year. I fixed many problems with my muscles. I can’t say 100% but I can say 80% I will be back on stage this year. I’ll try.”
That uncertainty is rooted in his commitment to quality. He doesn’t want to step on stage unless he can present a winning package.
“I’m trying my best to be back but I need to come back without an issue. That’s my goal and I need to get back onstage. I need to be stronger than before. If I can’t come back with what I need, I don’t like to go on stage anymore.”
Only one man in history has ever lost the Olympia crown and then reclaimed it — Jay Cutler. After back-to-back wins in 2006 and 2007, Cutler lost in 2008, only to return stronger in 2009 to win again.
Big Ramy could become the second.

Overview
Big Ramy has once again hinted at a potential return to the Olympia stage. Previously, he won back-to-back Mr. Olympia titles in 2020 and 2021. However, he dropped to fifth place in 2022 and skipped the 2023 season entirely. Now, he says he’s fixed many issues with his physique and is training hard for a possible comeback. Still, he remains cautious. In fact, he made it clear he won’t compete unless he feels truly ready. As a result, his fans remain hopeful but uncertain. Clearly, Ramy’s return would shake up the Open division.
