Romanian bodybuilder Andrei Deiu is using his time in the gym wisely as he prepares for his highly-anticipated Classic Physique debut. Along with being a professional bodybuilder, Deiu is also a well-known fitness model and influencer. The 28-year-old’s talent earned him the IFBB Pro card after winning the 2017 Amateur Olympia, and he later teamed up with renowned bodybuilding coach Hany Rambod. At the 2017 Arnold Classic Europe, Deiu made his professional bodybuilding debut in the Men’s Physique division, where he secured a runner-up spot and gained attention for his tremendous potential.
Following his victory at the 2019 Romania Muscle Fest Pro, Deiu qualified directly for the 2020 Olympia. He showed a great deal of promise at the show, finishing fifth in the Men’s Physique division. After demonstrating his abilities on the largest bodybuilding stage, Deiu returned to competition at the 2021 IFBB Republic of Texas Pro and emerged victorious. As a result of his win, he received a second chance at the Olympia title and finished seventh at the 2021 Olympia. Deiu’s most recent competition was the 2022 Texas Pro, where he claimed second place. In November 2022, he announced his decision to move up to the Classic Physique division.

Back Workout: Lat Pulldowns
During his training session, Andrei Deiu and his workout partner kicked off their routine with lat pulldowns using the Hoist Fitness Lat Pulldown machine. This exercise is considered crucial for developing the back muscles and primarily targets the latissimus dorsi muscles. The machine’s seat position adjusts as the exercise arm moves, according to the company’s website, providing unrestricted joint movement and activating the core. Power Panatta Rows: A Complete Guide
Following a vertical pulling movement, Andrei Deiu transitioned to a horizontal pulling exercise, performing seated rows. This exercise not only helps to develop a thicker back by working the latissimus dorsi and upper back muscles but also improves posture. Deiu used the Super Power Panatta rows machine, which is designed to stimulate the middle back region and enhance muscle thickness in that area.
“I’m not aiming for super-heavy weights because I want to establish a good mind-muscle connection…a 5G connection,” Deiu quipped. “I can squeeze and hold the movement, as well as stretch all the way. This is how you grow the muscle and achieve that high-quality, three-dimensional fiber.” Deiu powered through three robust sets of the super power rows before moving on to another rowing exercise.

Seated Cable Rows with Neutral Grip
Next up was the cable machine, as Andrei Deiu moved on to performing seated cable rows using a neutral grip handle. After completing a few sets of this exercise, the 28-year-old shifted his attention to T-Bar rows.
Incline T-Bar Rows with Machine
Arguably one of the most effective exercises for back development, the T-bar row targets pulling muscles like the latissimus dorsi, teres major, teres minor, trapezius, infraspinatus, posterior deltoids, brachialis, and pectoralis major. Andrei Deiu tackled some challenging sets of the machine T-bar rows before moving on to his final exercises of the day.

Cable Superset: Straight Arm Pulldown and Face Pulls
To finish off his training session, Andrei Deiu employed a superset of two exercises. Supersets, which involve very short rest periods between two consecutive sets, are an effective way to increase the aerobic intensity of a training session. With this superset, Deiu provided a final stimulus to his back muscles before wrapping up his workout.
“This superset is one of my favorites on back day because I feel like the muscles are properly stretching out and contracting by the last exercise. So give this a try!” commented Andrei Deiu after completing the superset.
