The 2025 UK’s Strongest Man competition took place in Nottingham on June 29. Eight elite strongmen from 🇬🇧 England, 🏴 Scotland, and 🏴 Wales competed in five brutal events. These included the Max Car Squat, Tire Flip, Incline Log Press, Deadlift Ladder, and Loading Race.

🇬🇧 Andrew Flynn emerged as the champion, scoring 🥇 34.5 points out of 40. He showed outstanding consistency across all events and used speed to dominate the Deadlift Ladder and Loading Race. His ability to avoid major drops kept him ahead of the field.

🏴 Chris Beetham pushed hard and finished close behind with 🥈 33 points. 🇬🇧 Paul Smith rounded out the podium with 🥉 32 points, thanks to his massive squat performance. The tight race highlighted just how fierce UK strongman competition has become.

🏆 2025 UK’s Strongest Man Results – Nottingham 🇬🇧

Final Standings

Rank Name Nation Points
🥇 1 Andrew Flynn 🇬🇧 ENG 34.5
🥈 2 Chris Beetham 🏴 SCO 33
🥉 3 Paul Smith 🇬🇧 ENG 32
4 Dean Mason 🇬🇧 ENG 25
5 Jacob Brooke 🏴 WAL 19.5
6 William Jones 🏴 WAL 13.5
7 Jamie Nelson 🏴 WAL 10.5
8 Scott Fraser 🏴 SCO 8

Clearly, the top three athletes were separated by only 2.5 points. 🇬🇧 Flynn’s edge came from consistency rather than any single dominant event. Every point counted.

🏴 Wales placed three athletes in the bottom half, with 🏴 Jacob Brooke finishing highest in 5th. Still, their presence added depth to the field. 🏴 Scotland’s Beetham nearly won the show, while teammate 🏴 Scott Fraser landed last.

Together, these results reflect a strong future for British strength sports. Several athletes are rising fast, and the depth is real.

Max Car Squat

Name Nation Weight
Paul Smith 🇬🇧 ENG 330 kg
Andrew Flynn 🇬🇧 ENG 320 kg
Chris Beetham 🏴 SCO 320 kg
Jacob Brooke 🏴 WAL 320 kg
Dean Mason 🇬🇧 ENG 280 kg
William Jones 🏴 WAL 250 kg
Jamie Nelson 🏴 WAL 250 kg
Scott Fraser 🏴 SCO No lift

🇬🇧 Paul Smith led the event with a commanding 330-kilogram lift. It gave him an early lead and boosted his podium chances. He looked explosive and confident under the bar.

Three men — 🇬🇧 Flynn, 🏴 Beetham, and 🏴 Brooke — tied for second with 320 kilograms. This pack kept pace and locked in strong scores. Unfortunately, 🏴 Scott Fraser failed to complete a lift, placing him at an early disadvantage.

This event set the tone for the day. Leg strength, technique, and nerves were all on display. Smith shone brightest in this moment.

Tire Flip

Name Nation Time
Andrew Flynn 🇬🇧 ENG 32.52 sec
Chris Beetham 🏴 SCO 33.79 sec
Paul Smith 🇬🇧 ENG 35.84 sec
Jacob Brooke 🏴 WAL 40.60 sec
Scott Fraser 🏴 SCO 41.16 sec
William Jones 🏴 WAL 41.88 sec
Dean Mason 🇬🇧 ENG 44.09 sec
Jamie Nelson 🏴 WAL 45.92 sec

Then came the Tire Flip. 🇬🇧 Flynn was unstoppable here, flipping all nine tires in just 32.52 seconds. His speed helped regain the overall lead.

🏴 Beetham stayed close, just over a second behind. 🇬🇧 Smith took third again, further anchoring his consistency. The remaining athletes clustered near the 40-second mark, with times stretched by fatigue.

This event highlighted the need for both power and agility. Flynn’s acceleration between flips proved the difference.

Incline Log Press

Name Nation Reps
Chris Beetham 🏴 SCO 10
Dean Mason 🇬🇧 ENG 9
Paul Smith 🇬🇧 ENG 7
Andrew Flynn 🇬🇧 ENG 5
Jacob Brooke 🏴 WAL 5
Jamie Nelson 🏴 WAL 4
William Jones 🏴 WAL No lift
Scott Fraser 🏴 SCO No lift

🏴 Beetham dominated the Log Press with 10 strong reps. This event was his best of the day and put serious pressure on 🇬🇧 Flynn.

🇬🇧 Dean Mason followed close behind with nine reps, giving him his best event finish. 🇬🇧 Smith again stayed consistent with seven, avoiding any major stumbles.

However, 🇬🇧 Flynn’s tie for fourth was crucial. It minimized the damage and helped maintain his edge. The press separated the podium contenders from the rest.

Deadlift Ladder

Name Nation Score
Andrew Flynn 🇬🇧 ENG 6 in 69.28 sec
Dean Mason 🇬🇧 ENG 4 in 58.46 sec
Paul Smith 🇬🇧 ENG 3 in 14.88 sec
Chris Beetham 🏴 SCO 3 in 28.15 sec

Scott Fraser 🏴 SCO 3 in 36.75 sec
Jacob Brooke 🏴 WAL 3 in 38.37 sec
Jamie Nelson 🏴 WAL 2 in 26.89 sec

Flynn’s deadlift performance sealed the deal. He was the only athlete to complete all six lifts. His time of 69.28 seconds proved just fast enough.

Meanwhile, 🇬🇧 Dean Mason posted a solid four-lift run, while 🏴 Beetham stalled at three. This was a crucial turning point in the standings.

Once again, Flynn’s consistency under pressure became his strength. The ladder tested stamina, and Flynn delivered.

Jamie Nelson 🏴 WAL 4 in 59.47 sec
Jacob Brooke 🏴 WAL 4 in 64.43 sec
Scott Fraser 🏴 SCO 3 in 35.00 sec

The final event tested speed, coordination, and grit. 🇬🇧 Flynn once again led the charge, completing all five implements in just over 53 seconds.

🏴 Beetham tried to close the gap but couldn’t match Flynn’s pace. 🇬🇧 Smith held off 🇬🇧 Mason with quicker loading time and held onto bronze.

Ultimately, the race confirmed Flynn’s title. He outpaced the competition when it mattered most.
