The seventh annual 2025 Rogue Invitational Strongman & Strongwoman competition took place from October 31 to November 2 at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland. On Day 1, 20 men and 20 women launched into three grueling events, including heavy lifts, presses, carries, and medleys. The venue crackled with energy as athletes tested their limits, establishing early positions in the overall standings.

From the outset, the men’s division saw clear frontrunners, with Mitchell Hooper 🇨🇦 asserting his strength and consistency across the opening challenges. In the women’s field, Inez Carrasquillo 🇵🇷 quickly distinguished herself, but the competition remained tight, with Olga Liashchuk 🇺🇦 and Angelica Jardine 🇦🇺 pushing hard to stay in contention. Day 1 highlighted that raw strength alone is not enough; technique, stamina, and mental focus were equally critical.

Recovery, strategy, and pacing emerged as major themes. Athletes had to manage fatigue across multiple heavy events, deciding carefully when to give maximum effort and when to conserve energy. The demanding schedule rewarded those who combined power with smart decision-making, setting the stage for an intense Day 2.

On the final day, Hooper 🇨🇦 and Carrasquillo 🇵🇷 claimed victories, demonstrating not only exceptional strength but also tactical precision in key events like the Viking Press, Circus Medley, and Mons Meg. Their performances underscored why the Rogue Invitational remains one of the premier stages for the world’s strongest athletes, delivering both spectacular feats and tightly contested battles.

As the weekend progressed into Day Two, all eyes were on whether the leaders could maintain their form or be overtaken by athletes saving energy for later rounds. The emotional intensity in the arena grew, with crowd reactions, competitor reactions and shifting leader-boards keeping fans engaged.

Day One – 2025 Rogue Invitational Strongman and Strongwoman Events Results

Event 1: Wagon Wheel Axle Deadlift

In Event 1, each athlete attempted their one-rep maximum on the thick axle / wagon wheel deadlift implement. This lift tests maximal strength, grip and posture under immense load — a strong opener for the weekend’s program. The deadlift immediately set up hierarchies; athletes who came strong early gained advantage.

Strongman results highlight how vital a big opening lift can be. Mitchell Hooper took the win with a massive 1,050 lb pull. Trey Mitchell and Lucas Hatton tied for third with 975 lb each, giving them strong starts. The difference between first and third here impacted overall momentum.

For Strongwomen, Lucy Underdown won with a 720 lb pull, setting a high benchmark. Olga Liashchuk and Inez Carrasquillo placed lower in this event, showing early that they would rely more on consistency across multiple lifts rather than one standout pull. The night ended with competitors already plotting their strategies for upcoming events.

Event 2: Viking Press (Max Reps in 60 Seconds)

Event 2 challenged overhead pressing endurance. Athletes had 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible on a designated weight: heavy enough to test fatigue and lockout under pressure. Performance here often shifts standings significantly.

Trey Mitchell dominated the men’s press with 22 reps, a strong differential over his rivals and a key factor in his top-spot hold. Mitchell Hooper trailed with 18 reps, while Lucas Hatton matched Bryce Johnson at 16. The gap here gave Mitchell a psychological edge heading into the medley.

On the women’s side, Inez Carrasquillo took the win with an impressive 20 reps. Angelica Jardine and Andrea Thompson tied for second with 18 each, while Olga Liashchuk posted 13 — enough to remain in contention but signaling she would need strong event finishes. The press underscored how conditioning and stamina combine with brute strength in modern strong sport.

Event 3: Yoke Escalator (Yoke Carry + Power Stairs Medley)

The third event tested combined strength, carrying speed, and coordination under fatigue. Athletes carried a heavy yoke and then ascended “Power Stairs” with incrementally heavier implements — a punishing medley that often decouples contenders from pretenders.

In the men’s competition, Paddy Haynes stunned the field with a 1:26.42 finish, taking Event 3 by a margin. Trey Mitchell held strong with 1:58.85, while Thomas Evans and Tom Stoltman followed. The medley exposed weakness in some athletes who had strong lifts but lacked endurance and pace.

In the Strongwoman field, Olga Liashchuk turned in a standout 45.48-second time — the fastest in her division — giving her critical momentum. Hannah Linzay and Inez Carrasquillo followed in 50-second territory. The medley forced athletes to manage pacing, transition speed, and stamina across carry and stairs sequences.

Day Two

Event 4: Circus Press Medley

Event 4 opened Day Two with a dramatic sequence of overhead implements — athletes moved from kettlebells to dumbbells to axles in a timed medley. This event tests shoulder endurance, coordination, and transition speed. Scores here can shift the leaderboard due to wide variance in athlete specialties.

In this medley, athletes with more experience in odd-object overheads typically gain advantage, while those stronger in raw pressing can lose time in transitions. The Trick is not just raw force but maintaining rhythm and executing efficiently across implements. Several athletes had spoken the night before about making or breaking their weekend in this event.

Because it’s the fourth event on Day Two, fatigue begins to accumulate — earlier heavy efforts combine with pressure to perform again after one night of competition. Athletes must choose whether to push for event win or conserve for the final events. This strategic layer adds drama to Day Two.

Event 5: Power Drive

Event 5 focuses on explosive power — a heavy sled or vehicle is pushed or driven across a set course. Time or distance achieved becomes the scoring metric. The Push/Drive tests leg and core strength under high load, and often exposes athletes who built muscle but lack drive technique or brake control.

Physically, this event demands high hip and torso stability plus maximal leg drive — not just moving weight, but moving it fast and under control. Many athletes had predicted that this event would decide podium positions because small inefficiencies can cost significant time.

Mentally, by Event 5 the weekend is in full heat-mode. Athletes are sore, adrenalized, and facing the final push for top placings before the stone loading. The Power Drive often separates those who manage fatigue well from those who crumble under volume and pressure.

Event 6: Mons Meg Stones

The final event of the weekend is the Mons Meg Stones — progressive stone loading onto platforms, heavy stones, timed format. This test is iconic in Rogue competition and often delivers dramatic finishes. It combines strength, grip, stamina, and composure under pressure — heavy breath, heavy stones, heavy stakes.

For many athletes, this is the make-or-break moment. If you are in contention for the title, a slow stone time or missed lift can cost you the victory. Fans often watch starting stone loads and the final athlete’s calm as a narrative climax.

As the last event, Mons Meg Stones also serves as the dramatic finale to the live stream — lighting, commentary, scoreboards, and athlete emotion all come together. It’s not just about the physical feat but the emotional wrap-up of a hard weekend’s work.
