The 2025 Magnús Classic Gimli took place on August 2-3 in Gimli, Canada. Then, three Americans joined nine Canadians to contest six grueling events. Next, the competition tested raw power, endurance, and speed. Finally, USA’s Levi Strong and Canada’s Colten Sloan tied at 63 points each.

However, Strong secured the gold thanks to a faster time in the Natural Stones event. Meanwhile, Andrew Langelaar of Canada finished third with 57 points. Overall, the event showcased fierce competition between the neighboring countries’ top strongmen.

Moreover, the six events ranged from Arm-Over-Arm Pull to Natural Stones. Each tested different strength aspects. This variety made for an exciting and unpredictable contest.

Ultimately, Strong’s win highlighted his grit and determination. The fans in Gimli witnessed an intense battle between North America’s best.

2025 Magnús Classic Gimli Results

Levi Strong 🇺🇸 took the top spot with 63 points. Then, Colten Sloan 🇨🇦 tied him at 63 points but settled for second. Next, Andrew Langelaar 🇨🇦 secured third place with 57 points. Larson Hehr 🇨🇦 followed closely with 55 points. Finally, Daniel Cadger 🇨🇦 rounded out the top five with 45 points.

Meanwhile, the rest of the field battled for placement points. Americans Jonathan Winberly and Landon Whitt earned 35 and 32 points respectively. The remaining Canadians filled out the leaderboard.

This close scoring confirmed a tight contest, with only a few points separating many athletes.

Arm-Over-Arm Pull

Levi Strong finished fastest in 25.25 seconds. Next, Ryan Vance and Colten Sloan followed closely with 25.93 and 26.36 seconds. Meanwhile, Andrew Langelaar took fourth with 29.26 seconds.

Then, the field spread out with times ranging from 29.86 to 37.29 seconds. Finally, Travis Klassen finished last in 37.29 seconds. This event favored speed and upper-body endurance.

Colten Sloan completed all four implements fastest in 48.16 seconds. Then, Larson Hehr closely followed with the same four lifts in 51.49 seconds. Meanwhile, Daniel Cadger managed three lifts in 46.62 seconds.

However, Levi Strong also completed three lifts but in 60.47 seconds. Finally, several athletes failed to complete any lifts, including Ryan Vance, Dave Blake, Lance Lavallée, and Travis Klassen.

This event tested explosive overhead strength and speed.

Meanwhile, Larson Hehr and Ryan Vance completed five reps. Then, Dave Blake lifted two reps. Finally, Landon Whitt and Lance Lavallée managed one rep each, while Josh Cloherty and Travis Klassen failed to lift.

This event emphasized raw pulling strength and endurance.

Furthermore, the field ranged down to Travis Klassen at 17.56 meters. This event tested grip strength and full-body endurance.

Additionally, several athletes managed fewer fingers or failed to complete. Lance Lavallée and Jonathan Winberly did not lift in this event.

This final event served as the tie-breaker for the overall title.
