Rhyan Clark stood at the top once again. Accordingly, he claimed gold at the 2025 Los Angeles Grand Prix Pro. Specifically, the Men’s Physique contest was held in Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday, April 26.
Notably, the event served as a qualifier for the 2025 Olympia. Indeed, that competition will take place in Las Vegas from October 9 to 12. However, the qualification stakes did not apply to Clark.
Earlier this season, Clark had already secured his Olympia berth. Consequently, his win did not open a slot for another athlete. Instead, the qualification did not roll down to the runner-up.
Still, the victory sent a message. Clearly, Clark continues to build momentum heading into the sport’s biggest stage. Ultimately, his performance in Anaheim reinforced his status as a serious Olympia contender.

Rhyan Clark proved why he’s a top contender. Previously, his last victory came in November at the 2024 Shawn Ray Hawaiian Classic Pro. Since then, he had competed twice in 2025. Ultimately, the third attempt brought success for both Clark and his coach, Neil Hill.
Still, the win wasn’t unanimous. Notably, the scorecards revealed that Clark received a total of four points. This meant at least one judge placed him in second.
Meanwhile, Mattia Ballarini narrowly edged out third place. In fact, the margin was just one point. As a second-year pro, Ballarini continues to build momentum.
Now, he faces a time crunch. Clearly, he must win a contest before the Olympia qualification deadline of September 14, 2025. Until then, his path to Las Vegas remains uncertain.
Shayan Parvaz showed one of the most striking improvements. Last year, he placed eighth at this same contest. This time, he leapt five spots into third.
Visibly, his progress was hard to ignore. If a Most Improved award had been offered, he likely would’ve taken it. Moving forward, Parvaz is shaping up to be a real threat in the pro circuit.

On the same day, another pro earned his Olympia spot. Specifically, Edvan Palmeira claimed gold at the 2025 Wasatch Warrior Pro in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a result, he punched his ticket to the Olympia stage in Las Vegas.
