The 2025 CrossFit Games qualifying season is officially over and now the roster Lineup is set, with 30 men and 30 women earning their spots. Then, after months of grueling training and tough competition, these athletes have claimed their place on the biggest stage in the sport. Finally, this group will define the year to come.

Meanwhile, the path to the Games was long and challenging. Specifically, athletes earned their spots through ten in‑person qualifying events, called the In‑Affiliate Semifinals. Moreover, those contests stretched from early April to mid‑June. In fact, they brought together the best athletes from every corner of the globe.

Next, this roster showcases a deep and diverse field. Importantly, it includes athletes from countless gyms, affiliates, and nations. Meanwhile, every person on the list has proven their worth across a brutal series of events. As a result, this group now stands ready to compete for glory at the 2025 CrossFit Games.

Finally, it’s worth noting that this roster could still evolve. Specifically, if any athlete withdraws before the Games, CrossFit may fill the spot with another qualified candidate. Moreover, this process is laid out clearly in Rules 3.01 and 5.02. In the end, the official list will be updated if and when changes occur.

2025 CrossFit Games — Everything We Know So Far

The 2025 CrossFit Games will take place for the first time at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York, from Aug. 1–3. Then, after moving from Madison, Wisconsin, to Fort Worth, Texas, in 2024, the venue has shifted again — this time following the tragic death of Lazar Ðukić 🇷🇸 in the opening event of last year’s Games.

Meanwhile, the roster for this year’s Games is now set. Specifically, 30 men and 30 women earned spots through ten in‑person qualifying events, called the In‑Affiliate Semifinals, which ran from early April to mid‑June. Moreover, these athletes came from every corner of the globe, representing countless gyms and affiliates.

Importantly, the 2025 CrossFit Games will look different from years past. In fact, some of the sport’s biggest names — Annie Thorisdottir 🇮🇸, Patrick Vellner 🇨🇦, and Emma McQuaid 🇮🇪 — announced that they will skip this year’s Open and, by extension, the Games. As a result, the competitive landscape has shifted, creating new opportunities for rising stars.

Finally, this year’s CrossFit season arrives amid serious challenges for the sport. For example, the 2025 Games will feature the smallest prize purse since 2016. Moreover, nearly 200,000 athletes who participated in the 2024 CrossFit Open failed to register for 2025, a drop that marks a 32% decrease and the lowest total since 2014.

Overview

The 2025 CrossFit Games roster is now finalized, featuring 30 men and 30 women from across the globe. Next, these athletes earned their spots through rigorous in-person qualifying events held between April and June. Moreover, the Games will be held in Albany, New York, marking a new chapter after venue changes following last year’s tragedy. Finally, despite some top athletes opting out and a dip in participation, the competition promises fierce battles for the title this August.
