Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr has done it once more and claimed victory at 2025 CrossFit Games. Furthermore, the six-time defending champion entered the 2025 CrossFit Games with a target on her back—and left with her eighth championship title, solidifying her place as the most dominant athlete in the sport’s history.
Additionally, she finished the weekend at Albany’s MVP Arena with 902 points, beating runner-up Lucy Campbell of the UK by 182 points. Olivia Kerstetter rounded out the podium in third.
2025 CrossFit Games Final – Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr Wins
Toomey-Orr came into the Games after shifting her focus earlier this season to the HYROX World Championships. However, despite that detour, she punched her Games ticket via the Torian Pro and arrived in Albany ready.
In addition, she opened the weekend with two statement victories on “IE01: Run-Row-Run” and “IE02: All Crossed Up.” But the third event brought rare adversity.
In “IE03: All Crossed Up” — featuring pegboard ascents and squat cleans — Toomey-Orr struggled. Furthermore, her shoes appeared to cause issues on the wall, and she finished 16th. Meanwhile, Campbell capitalized, placing sixth and narrowing the gap to just six points.
Then, Campbell turned up the heat.
In “IE04: Albany Grip Trip,” Campbell took the event win. Toomey-Orr placed third and lost the white leader’s jersey—an unfamiliar sight. Suddenly, the possibility of her being beatable seemed real.
But that didn’t last long.
Meanwhile, Toomey-Orr answered back with a dominant Saturday: fourth, third, and second-place finishes. By the end of the day, she had re-established a 69-point lead over Campbell heading into Sunday.

Sunday: Game Over
Toomey-Orr began the final day with a comfortable win on “IE08: Going Dark,” stretching her lead to 130 points. Furthermore, she added another victory in “IE09: Running Isabel,” and closed out with a third-place finish on the final test, “IE10: Atlas.”
However, the result was definitive. With a total of four event wins, Toomey-Orr’s eighth title was never in doubt by the end of the weekend.
How This Title Stacks Up
Toomey-Orr’s 182-point margin ranks as her fourth-largest Games win:
- 2020: 360 points
- 2021: 256 points
- 2019: 195 points
- 2025: 182 points
- 2024: 151 points
- 2022: 113 points
- 2018: 64 points
- 2017: 2 points
While her four event wins this year were fewer than in 2021 (9), 2020 (9), or even last year (6), they were more than enough to separate her from the field.
Toomey-Orr now has 45 career event wins, tying the combined total of CrossFit legends Rich Froning and Mat Fraser.

Will She Retire—for Real This Time?
Toomey-Orr has hinted at retirement for years. Furthermore, she admitted she considered stepping away after qualifying through the Torian Pro, but once again couldn’t bring herself to walk away. After Sunday’s finale, she addressed the ongoing speculation.
“I still love competing and I don’t think that will ever disappear,” she said. “It’s frucking hard to retire. So I apologize for retiring and coming back and retiring and coming back.”
Whether or not this is the final chapter, one thing remains undeniable: Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr is the greatest CrossFit athlete of all time.
