Clearly, Day 2 of the 2025 CrossFit Games tested both pacing and endurance with a brutal back-to-back challenge — “Throttle Up” followed by “Hammer Down.” Interestingly, 200 points were on the line. Notably, athletes had to balance high effort in the first workout with enough energy left to finish strong in the second. This grueling back-to-back test was part of the 2025 CrossFit Games Event 5 and the 2025 CrossFit Games Event 6 & 7 Results.
The men’s field witnessed bold pacing strategies. Athletes had just a minute between the two events, and that window proved decisive. Sprinting the first part meant paying the price in the second. Many miscalculated and dropped down the standings.
Meanwhile, on the women’s side, top contenders like Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, Lucy Campbell, and Arielle Loewen made critical gains. They each used different approaches but all ended Day 2 in strong contention.
Ultimately, the winners of the day—Garard, Sprague, Campbell, and Loewen—left their mark heading into the final stretch. Momentum has clearly shifted.

Clearly, IE06 was over in a blink. Indeed, the men launched into the first half of the two-parter, hoping to bank some rest before transitioning to IE07. However, many faltered trying to balance pace and recovery.
Interestingly, Ricky Garard and James Sprague — both former podium finishers — nailed their timing. As a result, both men managed to post top scores across both events.
Garard took second in IE06 and first in IE07, while Sprague won IE06 and placed third in IE07.
“This is a professional sport; you’re not always going to win every race,” Sprague said. “But what you can do is learn from your failures, learn from your hardships, learn from the things that go well, and take it into the next one. I believe that the more times I step out here, the better, more resilient I’m going to get.”
Undoubtedly, both men rocketed up the leaderboard. Garard now sits in second, with Sprague in third. Notably, they hope to capitalize on that momentum on the final day.
On the Women’s Side
Indeed, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr reclaimed the white leader’s jersey after briefly falling out of the top spot. She returned to form just in time for the Day 2 finale.
Still, other contenders made their presence known. Alexis Raptis posted consistent top-heat finishes and demonstrated impressive gymnastics.
However, Lucy Campbell stole the show by winning her second event of the day. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to reclaim the overall lead.
“I think a burpee box jump over is the truest test of fitness, and I am really proud that I have good fitness.” – Arielle Loewen
Loewen, who claimed her second career event win during IE06, capped off her Saturday in third place and now eyes a podium spot.
