The 2025 California State Pro returns on Saturday, May 24, in Anaheim, California. For the third weekend in a row, Men’s Open competitors will take the stage. Moreover, a coveted Olympia qualification is at stake. Until now, none of the athletes in this lineup have secured a spot in Las Vegas.

At stake is a place at the 2025 Mr. Olympia. If victorious, one competitor will join the roster for bodybuilding’s biggest event, scheduled for Oct. 9–12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Therefore, the pressure is high. Indeed, every athlete arrives knowing only one can advance.

In total, 13 men are set to compete. Additionally, they represent seven countries with varied experience. Consequently,they’ll battle for the judges’ favor and the fans’ respect. Ultimately, each one has a single goal: win and move on.

Until now, none of these contenders have locked in an Olympia ticket. Hence, this contest offers a rare opportunity. Still,only one will earn the title and the chance to stand among the sport’s best. Now, the spotlight turns to Anaheim.

Regan Grimes

Sasan Heirati earned fifth place at the New York Pro and second at the Detroit Pro earlier this year. However, he has yet to claim a victory or secure Olympia qualification. Therefore, this show represents a critical opportunity for him.

Secondly, Heirati has been battling seasoned veterans who have an edge in size and experience. In addition, he continues to push for that breakthrough moment. If Grimes falters, Heirati is poised to seize the win.

Finally, many see this as the moment Heirati can solidify his place among the elite. As a result, his preparation and strategy will be closely watched. Ultimately, this contest may reveal whether he can finally break through.

Patrick Moore

Patrick Moore placed 10th at the 2025 Arnold Classic but boasts strong past results at this contest. Moreover, he won the California State Pro in 2019 and again in 2021. Therefore, he knows what it takes to succeed here.

The 2025 California State Pro takes place on May 24 in Anaheim. Next, this is the third consecutive weekend featuring a Men’s Open contest. Also, a coveted Olympia qualification is at stake.
