The 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition, slated for May 1-5 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is swiftly approaching. Furthermore, as the premier event of the Strongman season, boasting a history spanning nearly five decades, it holds paramount importance for athletes in the sport. With the competition drawing near, organizers have unveiled the lineup of events for the upcoming edition.

Additionally, comprising two stages, the qualifiers and the finals, the 2024 World’s Strongest Man features 30 athletes divided into five groups of six. Moreover, in the qualifiers, participants engage in five events, with only the top two athletes from each group advancing to the finals. Also, the finals stage intensifies the competition, with Strongmen facing off in six events to determine the ultimate titleholder of the World’s Strongest Man.

2024 World’s Strongest Man Events Unveiled

Qualifiers (May 1-2, 2024)

  1. Webster Stones
  2. Deadlift Ladder
  3. Sandbag Steeplechase
  4. Globe Viking Press
  5. Car Walk
  6. Special Event: Stone-Off*

The Special Event, ‘Stone-Off,’ is exclusive to select athletes. It involves the 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each group competing against each other. They take turns lifting an Atlas Stone over a beam. The winner of this duel secures a spot in the Finals alongside the overall winner of the group.

Finals (May 4-5, 2024)

  2. Max Axle Press
  3. Keg Toss
  4. Reign Total Body Fuel Conan’s Wheel
  5. BFGoodrich Tires HD Terrain Deadlift

Regrettably, the 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition has been marred by the withdrawal of Mateusz Kieliszkowski and Martins Licis. Kieliszkowski sustained an Achilles tendon injury during training, while Licis opted out to address a lingering sciatica nerve problem.
