South African strongman Rayno Nel secured victory with 69 points, outperforming Ghana's Evans Nana Aryee and Latvia's Aivars Šmaukstelis.

The 2024 Strongman Champions League (SCL) World Finals took place in Alanya, Türkiye, on Nov. 8-9, 2024. Furthermore, twelve competitors from twelve countries participated. Moreover, they competed across six intense events: Block Press, Stone Carry, Steintossen, Truck Pull, Car Deadlift, and Natural Stones. Lastly, as a result, the athletes were pushed to their limits, testing their strength and endurance in each challenge.

In addition, Rayno Nel from South Africa emerged victorious, securing 69 points out of a possible 72. Notably, Nel’s consistent performance across all events helped him dominate the competition. Consequently, his victory cemented his place as one of the strongest athletes in the world.

Furthermore, Evans Nana Aryee from Ghana finished in second place with 65 points. However, despite tough competition, Aryee showcased remarkable strength. Also, his impressive showing in multiple events demonstrated his resilience, earning him the silver medal and solidifying his status on the world stage.

Additionally, Aivars Šmaukstelis from Latvia earned third place with 64 points. Moreover, throughout the contest, Šmaukstelis demonstrated incredible power and endurance. Ultimately, his determination in the final events helped him secure a spot on the podium, rounding out the top three.

2024 Strongman Champions League World Finals Event Official Results

Block Press

Initially, athletes had 75 seconds to lift four blocks overhead, each weighing 100–130 kilograms. Furthermore, Kane Francis dominated, completing the task in 26.64 seconds. Rayno Nel followed closely, finishing in 31.09 seconds, securing second place. Moreover, Aivars Šmaukstelis completed his lifts in 37.56 seconds, earning third. However, Evans Nana Aryee managed 47.45 seconds, taking fourth. Other competitors struggled, with Adam Roszkowski and Ervin Toots lifting only three blocks. In contrast, George Sulaiman managed just two lifts.

Ultimately, Nel’s performance earned him a strong second-place finish. Notably, Francis’s quick execution of the blocks left the rest of the field behind. Šmaukstelis fought hard, but couldn’t catch up with the top two. Aryee’s slower pace kept him out of the top ranks. Lastly, Francis’s rapid time set a benchmark others struggled to beat.

Stone Carry

In this event, athletes carried a 180-kilogram stone for maximum distance. Moreover, Rayno Nel led with an impressive 60-meter carry. Furthermore, Péter Juhász followed with 55.5 meters, earning second place. Notably, Evans Nana Aryee managed 50.4 meters for third. However, Brian Kichton and Ervin Toots both finished below 50 meters. Andrea Invernizzi, however, only managed a 5.5-meter carry before stopping.

Additionally, Nel’s strength and endurance set him apart from the rest of the field. Also, his 60-meter carry established a clear lead. Ultimately, Juhász and Aryee pushed hard but couldn’t match Nel’s distance. Next, Kichton and Toots, though strong, couldn’t break into the top three. Lastly, Nel’s dominance in this event left little doubt.

Steintossen

Athletes hurled a 75-kilogram stone for maximum distance in this event. Rayno Nel’s throw of 3.2 meters claimed the top spot. Furthermore, Adam Roszkowski followed with 3.06 meters, securing second. Moreover, Péter Juhász threw the stone 2.92 meters, taking third. However, Aivars Šmaukstelis achieved 2.79 meters, finishing just behind. Lastly, several athletes struggled, with Ilya Khazov and Andrea Invernizzi managing less than 2.5 meters.

Ultimately, Nel’s technique and power ensured his victory in this event. Also, his 3.2-meter throw set a high bar. Moreover, Roszkowski came close but couldn’t surpass Nel. Notably, Juhász and Šmaukstelis fought hard but were unable to break into the top two. Lastly, Nel’s performance made his victory in the Steintossen clear.

Truck Pull

The truck pull required athletes to move a truck along a 25-meter course within 75 seconds. Furthermore, Kane Francis finished in 40.25 seconds, securing first place. Ilya Khazov followed with 40.64 seconds, taking second. Moreover, Aivars Šmaukstelis was close behind with a 40.75-second time, landing third. At last, Evans Nana Aryee completed the pull in 44.53 seconds, earning fourth. Unfortunately, George Sulaiman withdrew from the event.

Ultimately, Francis’s strength and speed helped him take the top spot. Moreover, his 40.25-second finish was unmatched. However, Khazov and Šmaukstelis put up solid efforts but couldn’t challenge Francis’s time. Furthermore, Aryee gave his best but didn’t make the top three. Lastly, Francis’s performance in this event stood out among the competition.

Car Deadlift

In this event, athletes lifted a 375-kilogram car for as many reps as possible within a one-minute time limit. Furthermore, Evans Nana Aryee set the pace with 10 reps, taking first place. Moreover, Rayno Nel completed 9 reps, finishing second. However, Aivars Šmaukstelis managed 8 reps, landing in third. Notably, Brian Kichton and Ilya Khazov both completed 7 reps, tying for fourth. However, Ervin Toots and Ayyub Mohammad failed to lift the car at all.

Additionally, Aryee’s 10 reps secured a commanding lead. Nel’s 9 reps kept him close but not quite enough to win. Moreover, Šmaukstelis’s 8 reps placed him solidly in third. However, Kichton and Khazov worked hard but couldn’t top the leaders. Lastly, Toots and Mohammad’s inability to lift the car highlighted the challenge of the event.

Athletes attempted to load four stones weighing between 160–210 kilograms within 90 seconds. Furthermore, Rayno Nel finished first with a time of 17.19 seconds. Moreover, Aivars Šmaukstelis followed with 20.50 seconds, securing second. However, Kane Francis completed the stones in 20.71 seconds, earning third. Lastly, Evans Nana Aryee and Adam Roszkowski both finished under 25 seconds, showing strong performances. However, Ilya Khazov struggled, taking 62.34 seconds.

In addition, Nel’s speed and precision allowed him to dominate the event. Also, his 17.19-second performance was unmatched. Moreover, Šmaukstelis and Francis gave strong efforts but couldn’t catch Nel. Notably, Aryee and Roszkowski were close but couldn’t surpass the top three. Lastly, Nel’s clear lead in the event left the competition behind.
