The second event at the 2024 Rogue Invitational, Grip and Press, was a key moment in the debut of both strongwoman and strongman competitions. First, Lucy Underdown, fresh off her Deadlift Ladder win, aimed to maintain her momentum. Meanwhile, Hafthor Björnsson, after dominating the first event with his static strength, hoped to carry that success into the farmer’s carry and log lift medley.
Although the strongmen and strongwomen competed in separate categories, they ran their events simultaneously. Thus, each athlete competed head-to-head on the P&J Live competition floor in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Ultimately, Inez Carrasquillo and Thomas Evans emerged victorious. Notably, Carrasquillo became one of only three strongwomen to complete all three log presses, while Evans edged out Mitchell Hooper by just two one-hundredths of a second.
